Shapes Fitness for Women at Wesley Chapel

Today I went to water aerobics and was informed that our instructor, Ellen, is no longer with Shapes. Ellen, we miss you very much! Your classes were excellent, you were always very cheerful and upbeat, and your workouts helped me lose 8.4 pounds in just 3 weeks. Thank you and we all hope that you return to Shapes soon.

The cleanliness of the pool, whirlpool and sauna has definately improved. The manager has been very attentive. All of the water aerobics classes have been excellent. I love the instructor, Ellen, who does the "White Water" class! She is very friendly, and gives us a great work out. All of the instructors for water aerobics have been friendly and knowledgeable. I like the variety of classes also (water pilates, spring splash, and making waves)... but I make an effort to always attend Ellen's class. Thank you Ellen for helping me get into shape!

My review is good and BAD. I arrived early on Saturday morning when Shapes opened for the day. The cleaning lady had just come out of the dressing room / pool area. She had cleaned the counters, mirrors and toilets, however the glass door on the sauna still had splashes and grime ll over it. The floor in the sauna had muddy footprints from the before, and the hot tub and pool were still dirty. The pool and hot tub are always dirty! I am tired of voicing my concerns about the hair wads and dirty pool to the Shapes staff and manager. They just don't care and now they give me dirty looks. I suppose they think I am whining and complaining about nothing. If a brand new pool and hot tub are dirty now... imagine how gross and dirty it will be one year from now. The water aerobics workouts are great and I like the insructors. However, I will not renew my membership because the dirty pool and hot tub are disgusting!

I have been a member of several health clubs in the Tampa Bay area. I was very happy to see we were getting a Shapes in Wesley Chapel. For alot of women it is a blessing to be able to work out in a club without dealing with men. I decided to join with a few of my friends. However, I must be honest and write about my experiences so far; the classes are overcrowded, the locker room is too small and there are definite issues with cleanliness of this facility. I must say I will not be extending my contract. I have discussed my feelings with the managers and I am yet to see anything done. Several of my friends feel the same way. Sorry!!! Shapes just doesn't measure up to a really well run, organized health club facility.
