This is easy. EVERY horse should have its teeth checked yearly with most needing quality dental floating each year. Some horses have dental problems that necessitate floating portions or all of the mouth more often than this while a few can go up to 18 months. It is advisable to check the mouth each year when vaccinations are administered, as this helps you maintain a healthier mouth and does not allow problems to develop.

Comprehensive Examination
Pre-purchase examinations are routinely performed at Garner Equine. Several levels of diagnostics are available, and tailored to you and your horse based on the intended use and purchase price.
We strongly recommend use of a daily dewormer which keeps your horse parasite free and reduces the amount of feed required to maintain peak condition. However, based on our average pasture size in this area, deworming every two months will keep most horses relatively parasite free while greatly reducing the number of parasite eggs released to contaminate your pasture.
Garner Equine, in partnership with Animal Imaging, Inc. of Irving,TX, also offers referral MRI, Nuclear Scintigraphy, and radiology consultation by a board certified radiologist to further aid in diagnosis of certain lameness conditions. Once a diagnosis is established, we offer a wide array of therapeutic options to get your horse back to peak performance. These include, but are not limited to, routine joint injections, IRAP, PRP, extracorporeal shock wave therapy (ESWT), regenerative stem cell therapy, arthroscopic and soft tissue surgery, and customized rehabilitation plans that offer the safest route to a speedy and full recovery.
Laser Surgery
Spaying and Neutering
Laparoscopy is commonly performed as a minimally invasive method of cryptorchid castration that allows a rapid recovery and return to use. An ACVS board certified surgeon is available for most arthroscopic and orthopedic cases. Strict anesthetic monitoring is adhered to in order to provide the safest anesthesia and recovery possible.
