Dental Examination
After a thorough periodontal screening and examination we may choose more aggressive therapies aimed at eliminating or reducing the amounts of bacterial poisons and plaque accumulating below the gum line, (generally cleaning and polishing of teeth is above the gum-line). This involves curettage and root-planing and/or treatment with site specific administration of medications to the affected gums. Curettage is the debridement of the soft tissue lining around the tooth. In disease this tissue is chronically irritated by bacteria deep below the visible gum-line and needs to be removed so that proper healing can occur. Root-Planing is the removal and smoothing of micro-amounts of root surface so that a clean and un-infected surface is presented to the healing lining of soft tissue.

Dr. Stephanie Klassner brings over 10 years of dental practice to experience to Drs. Woodside and Sentz. She earned her dental degree from the University of Pennsylvania, where she graduated in the top 10 of her class and was awarded the Academy of Operative Dentistry Award for excellence in all areas of restorative dentistry. She was inducted into the Matthew Cryer and OKU dental honor societies. Beyond dental school, Dr. Klassner completed a one-year residency with Lehigh Valley Health Network in Allentown, PA, where she gained experience in complex treatment planning.

Root Canal Treatment
For example, if a tooth’s roots are damaged beyond repair, traditional restorative methods like root canal therapy would be impossible, necessitating the extraction of the traumatized tooth to maintain the overall health of the mouth.

Dentures
Dr. Woodside served on the Board of The Fauquier Free Clinic for 6 years, where he was Director of Dental Services. During his tenure, he was responsible for designing and opening a state-of-the-art facility dedicated to treating the underserved population of Fauquier County. He continues to donate his time after hours in their emergency clinic extracting teeth for patients in pain as well as fabricating dentures for patients in his private practice.

Dental Implants
Our doctors perform dental implant restoration by attaching artificial teeth to implants anchored in the bone below the gum line. After the anchor has been surgically placed in the jawbone, excess bone and gum grow around the implant, holding it firmly in place. An artificial tooth can then be attached to the implant. The end result is a strong, secure tooth that is virtually indistinguishable from natural teeth.

Dr. Woodside is committed to continuing education and has completed over 700 hours of additional dental training. He stays current with all the latest techniques in implantology, cosmetics, prosthodontics, oral surgery, and sedation that enable him to provide the highest quality of care to his patients. Dr. Woodside has received many awards and accolades throughout his career, including being named Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry and International Congress of Oral Implantologists.
Tooth Extractions
After all other options have been explored, Our doctors would recommend a tooth extraction only in the most extreme of cases where another method of saving the tooth is not available.

He has volunteered with the Fauquier Free Dental Clinic since its inception. He has treated countless patients in need over the years and has selflessly provided a necessary service to those less fortunate. His desire to serve his fellow man did not stop at the local level. He has made 46 dental and surgical missions to Central America through several nonprofit organizations. He is an active member in Austin Smiles whose focus is on cleft lip and palate repairs and the Belize Mission Project whose focus is General Dentistry. In 2004, Dr. Sentz started The Inter American Health and Development Organization (IAHDO) so he could further his mission work to Central America. With the inception of IAHDO, he has recruited local dentists to join him on his yearly trips to Central America.
