Solid Sounds Electronics VCR & TV Repair

Let me start by saying that I am an avid supporter of local businesses, especially one that caters to my passion for music. However JR, the owner of Solid Sounds doesn't seem to understand the concept of loyal repeat customers. He is rude, arrogant and will rip you off any chance he gets. As I told him to his face, I will not be back.

I was very dismayed with my whole experience. I took my TV (52" Samsung) to JR on Monday, paid $100 diagnostic fee. He called LATE Tuesday with a quote for parts that would need to be ordered -- $249.95 color wheel & $149.95 fan + tax. Found same original parts online for 89.95 & 23.17 respectively. Shared this with JR, he said he would call Wed. morning. I am a small business person as well and am all for making a dollar and supporting other small businesses, however 300% markup is a little much for me and I wouldn't treat treat my paying customers the way I was treated. After NOT hearing anything from JR since late Tuesday, on Thursday, I had to return twice to pick up my TV. Left MY business & was told he didn't have to put it together right now...he was busy. Okkk so I went back later that afternoon...asked (since I still needed the TV repaired) if JR would put his diagnosis on receipt (thinking he would be capable of sabotage at this point) & he said "no, I told you what it was." Okkk. Well, It is Friday morning, a repairman CAME TO THE HOUSE, he had the parts, had TV fixed, and was in & out in 30min. And was $200 less than what JR wanted from me. However, I really only saved $100 since I had to eat what I had given JR. Lesson learned. And their trip charge & diagnosis was only $75 and was deducted from my bill. I WILL be posting a review for them as well ;)
