All of your petâ€™s body parts and functions are examined. Most of our pet owners ask if we will be their practitioner as well! Of course we tell them â€œonly if they grow a tailâ€ ! We find it very important for you to be able to see what we see using â€ state of the artâ€ portable equipment that allows you to see your petâ€™s EKGs, video otoscope, video endoscope, video ophthalmic equipment and our digital x-rays to make your viewing as informative as ours. Lab tests conducted behind the scenes are made available for you to view via video microscope monitors in each exam room. A full in-house Idexx laboratory provide accurate rapid analysis; most all of our blood testing has a 10-minute turn around.
Kidney Disease Treatment
Examination of the urine is also important for diagnosing kidney disease. The specific gravity (of the urine) compares the weight of urine to the weight of water, detecting functional problems with the kidneys. The specific gravity indicates how well the animal is concentrating its urine. If the specific gravity is low (approaching that of water), the kidneys may not be eliminating the body's waste products properly into the urine. Instead of eliminating the waste products into the urine, they accumulate in the blood stream and cause problems.

Should your veterinarian find any issuesâ€”such as evidence of gum or tooth erosion, gingivitis or excessive plaque buildupâ€”we will discuss the diagnosis and offer treatment options for your pet. We are experienced dental practitioners and are capable of offering a number of dental procedures and oral surgeries.
Veterinary Surgery
Although anesthesia is required to keep pets still during the endoscopic procedure, the recovery time is minimal. The benefits of endoscopy over exploratory surgery include no surgical incision, shortened anesthetic time, decreased inflammation, less stress and discomfort and an earlier return to normal function for your pet.

Laboratory Services
Before your pet undergoes any surgical procedure, a thorough examination takes place. We utilize computerized anesthesia machines which breathe for the patient. This exam includes a pre-surgical blood screen, whichâ€”along with your pet's anesthetic history, breed, preexisting conditions and ageâ€”will be used to determine a unique anesthesia protocol. These tests have the added benefit of establishing a baseline for the comparison of future blood tests, should your pet require any.

Dental Radiology
An examination does not always reveal all sources of pain in an animal's mouth; therefore, we perform full mouth radiographs during routine dental cleanings. A dental radiograph will detect disease and potential pain that may be occurring under the gums.

Boarding
We provide a comfortable environment for all animals that come to stay with us. Our Vero Beach pet boarding facilities are state-of-the-art and provide our gusts with a comfortable and safe environment. Our care centers are warm and inviting, complete with socializing time and regular activity. Cats can enjoy â€œkitty-condosâ€ while dogs can spend their time in luxury kennels. Every pet that stays at Divine Animal Hospital will be provided with a soft bed, blanket, and toys to cuddle with. We also encourage clients to bring toys from home that will help your pet feel comfortable in this new environment. However, we are not responsible for any lost items.
Grooming
Divine Animal Hospital is happy to offer full-service, all-inclusive pet grooming for clients with a valid doctor/client/patient relationship. If your pet is not a client of the hospital yet, don't worry. All pets are allowed grooming services one time, without restriction.
Senior Pet Care
A blood-chemistry panel measures electrolytes, enzymes and chemical elements of your pet's blood. Included in a blood-chemistry profile are important components such as calcium and phosphorous levels, liver enzymes, glucose and total protein. These measurements help your veterinarian determine how your senior pet's organs, such as kidneys, pancreas and liver, are functioning. Blood-chemistry panels help diagnose and treat illness, as well as monitor your pet's response to treatment. A blood-chemistry panel is usually performed to screen for potential problems and risks before anesthesia is administered.
House Calls
