Crowns
— Esthetic crown lengthening is a largely cosmetic procedure in which the gums are pulled back to show more of the crown of each tooth. It's used to create a smile that shows more of the teeth. It can also be used for patients who have trouble with periodontal disease, as it decreases the depth of the pockets in which bacteria can grow.
Bridges
We're also able to create an implant-supported dental bridge to replace quite a few missing teeth. This combines the best features of titanium implants with the lower cost of a bridge.

Root Canal Treatment
Born and raised in Jackson, Mississippi, Dr. Robertson graduated from Jackson Prep High School. He earned his BA from the University of Mississippi in 1986, and he graduated as a chancellor and Dean's List scholar. He graduated from the University of Mississippi School of Dentistry in 1990 with a DMD (Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry). He was a member of the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honorary Dental Society, and he received the Periodontics and Endodontics Award. Dr. Robertson continued his studies and completed his certificate in periodontics at the University of Alabama.

When severe gum disease doesn't respond to scaling and planing or other periodontal treatments, a gingivectomy may be required. During a gingivectomy, our doctor removes and reshapes loose and diseased gum tissue. This reduces the size of the pockets between your teeth and gums in which bacteria can thrive.

Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

Oral Surgery
Flap Surgery
When other techniques for treating gum disease have not performed as well as hoped, osseous surgery may be required. Osseous surgery (or flap surgery) is used to create a clean environment around the tooth to allow it to heal and prevent needing to remove it. It's typically used if a pocket in the gum has gotten deeper over time.
Gum Surgery
— This is an incision-free procedure in which Dr. Robertson makes a very small hole and uses special instruments to loosen your gum tissue and put it back in place. It's minimally invasive and does not result in the pain, bleeding, or swelling that's part of traditional gum surgery. There are no incisions or sutures, so healing is quick. You get results you can see right away, and we can treat multiple teeth in a single visit.
Osseous Surgery
Osseous surgery includes anesthesia, an incision, and cleaning of the affected area. Plaque and bacteria are removed, and the surface of the bone is smoothed. Stitches will hold the gum tissue in place until healing is complete.
Tooth Extractions
Ridge Augmentation
In our practice, we perform ridge augmentations and preservations that restore the natural shape of your tooth socket and the surrounding tissues. Dr. Robertson puts new bone material in place through a graft and restores the gum tissue in the area. Depending on whether Dr. Robertson requires gum tissue or bone, he'll perform a soft tissue graft (gum tissue alone) or a hard tissue graft (with bone).
Bone Grafting
— The doctor will relocate the bone to your jaw and anchor it in place with titanium screws. He may add bone marrow and/or bone-grafting material to speed up the healing process.
