The Rural/Metro Fire Department, founded in 1948, is one of the largest providers of emergency services in Arizona. The department manages operations in Maricopa, Pinal, Pima and Yuma counties in Arizona. It offers emergency medical, vehicle extrication, home safety review, vehicle lockout assistance, and poisonous reptile and excess water removal solutions. The Rural/Metro Fire Department also provides fire prevention and public education programs. The department administers LifeData and School Mini-Musters programs, as well as offers services for people in Idaho, Wyoming, California and Oregon.
