Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Toms River

AVOID this facility. My brother was a patient at this facility following his stroke. He is a longterm diabetic and the stroke left him without full control and feeling of the left side of his body. While under their care, he developed a pressure ulcer on his left foot. Under the "watchful eyes" of his care providers the ulcer progressed to a terribly infected wound. The experts here failed to recognize the severity of his condition until his condition was LIFE THREATENING and transferred to Community Med Center. He now faces the real possibility of having his FOOT AMPUTATED! Rehab? You have got to be kidding! AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID

I stayed here for two weeks after knee replacement surgery. I used them for out patient rehabilitation. Now closed to out patient the bills are still rolling in with alacart therapy charges! 15 minutes of this for this much$ and 15 minutes of that for this much $. Considering my therapist spent much of her time surfing the computer I could have joined a Gym and spent the money on a trainer instead. As for the atmosphere? rooms were dark and not uplifting at all. I think they are building a new facility?
