These are all the same companies check the reviews I wouldn't advise anybody to use them. They lie about prices, the workers stoles things from my home that have yet to be recovered. I only gave them one star because a rating is required but they deserve non.

WORST MOVING COMPANY! These people charged me 3x the original estimate, took double the time to deliver my items from Florida to Boston, MA, broke a sentimental piece of furniture, and lost my entire closet! my estimate they cost me at least $15k+.

Not the best experience. We should have checked the Better Business Bureau complaints before booking with this company. Their $89 per hour is pretty much a bait and switch. They charge $300 to wrap a 55" flat screen and two mirrors, which they failed to mention in the quote. Mind you, the move was less than 20 miles. On top of the outrageous cost for bubble wrap and $25 blankets, they ran out of room in the truck and couldn't pack our patio furniture or boxes in the garage. They offered to go back for "free" if the movers were within the quoted time. Of course they weren't, so they wanted to charge us $89/hr to go back for the rest of our items. When I questioned how they could run out of room when they quoted our house, their simple response was "a 26' truck should be enough." Obviously it wasn't or the movers didn't do a good job packing the truck.

We got over the charges or even the lack of complete move (I had to do another move two days later). However, when I we finally unpacked my collection of 27 watches did not make it to our new house. I immediately called American Van Lines to let them know. They weren't concerned at all. They said we emptied the truck and nothing was left on the truck. Duh! Then they told me to file a claim and file police report because there was nothing further they could do. Seriously?!

I know I probably should have put the watches in my car in hindsight. We moved from Miami (4.5 hrs away) with no problems. Who knew a 20 min move would be a nightmare!

Find another moving company. Wish we had. Here is link to the complaints we missed.

Check their reviews on Better Business Bureau first!

This was a shakedown from the start. They saw an opportunity to exploit a senior citizen and took full advantage of it. If you do an internet search on this company, you ll find repeated complaints similar to mine. Please heed my warning and steer clear of American Van Lines East at all costs! I contracted American Van Lines East, Inc. out of Tampa, Florida to move all my household belongings to a storage unit 15 minutes from my house. A representative of the company came by my house and gave me an estimate of $315, which he said included the limited remaining wrapping required on my items. He said it was easy in and out in a couple hours. I signed the estimate agreement and provided a deposit to confirm the move. On the day of the move, two men arrived and told me the move would now cost me $700 because it will take 6 hours. They said I had to pay extra for bubble wrap and their time to wrap, which is counter to what the original estimator had indicated. When I called the company s office to protest, they said it really will not take that long and that they just provide the worst case price. They said it would more likely be around $450. Since I was already set to move that day, I said OK and the men started loading the truck. Three hours later, the truck was on the road with my belongings. About 2 minutes away from the storage unit, the moving truck broke down (the alternator, they said). They told me they had to have the truck towed away for repairs with my contents inside and they d return the next day to the storage unit to deliver my possessions. They assured me my stuff would stay on the truck untouched and secure. When they pulled up to the storage unit the next day, they were in a different truck. They had transferred my belongings to this second truck. When they opened the back of the truck all of the contents were strewn throughout the truck as they had hastily thown all the items from the first to the second truck. I also quickly realized that many of my items, including, but not limited to, boxes, mattresses and furniture were wet and damaged because there was a hole in the roof of the truck and it had rained in. It already smelled of stagnant water and mildew. I was distraught and began to cry when I realized how much of my stuff was ruined. The movers said they would transfer the contents of three of the wet boxes to dry boxes, but I d have to pay for the dry boxes and the time it took them to transfer the items! Prior to unloading anything, they told me they would not cover any damages and handed me an invoice for $660. They said unless I agreed to pay the invoice and sign a waiver releasing them of all liability, they would not unload my possessions. I refused to sign anything because the way everything was thrown around the truck I had no way of determining exactly what was damaged. They immediately closed the back of the truck, locked it and drove off with all my stuff, threatening to throw it all away if I didn t pay my bill and sign the waiver. They also called me shortly after and threatened to call the police if I did not sign a document that said I had refused delivery of my belongings. Over the course of the next five days I repeatedly tried to reason with the company and asked to speak to the owner. They wouldn t give me the owner s name and no one I spoke with would even provide their last names. I was told that my invoice was increasing for their storage fees for every day I refused to sign and pay their ransom, and that when I did eventually come to claim my items that I would have to bring my own truck and movers because they would not move mys stuff any further. Five days later, after I paid American Van Lines East, Inc. almost $1,000, they finally gave me access to by belongings. Many of my items were ruined with water damage, there were deep gouges in the wood furniture and many other items were cracked beyond repair.

This is the most crooked compa...

This is the most crooked company that exists in this town! I set a reservation for a move one day and cancelled the next day after I read all of the horrible reviews on YP.com. They took my deposit card info and wouldn't return it, even though the crook "bobby" on the phone said that they would. Anyone who uses this company deserves everything bad that happens to them! READ THE REVIEWS!!!!

When I ask for quotes to move ...

When I ask for quotes to move from Florida to New Jersey they had the best quote but is a FRAUD. This is my story: on october 1st 2011 I schedule my move with you guys and was the worst experience I ever had. First of all I did an exact estimate with Hanno and he gave me an estimate of 410 cft for a price of $1365. I agree with the price and the conditions because I was completely accurate on my estimate and Hanno assure me that the price will not change if I tell them exactly what I had. I agree to the $200 deposit and wait for the moving day with everything pack and extra packing material as recommended by Hanno. When the guys came for the move from the get go they told me that the estimate was not accurate and they will need 100 or 200 cft more to fit my belongings. They agree with me that everything that was on the estimate match exactly with what I was planing to move but the estimate was not accurate. They contact their supervisor right away to see what they can do. The supervisor ask to talk to me and he start yelling at me asking my where I was from and that I have to stop crying like a woman and pay what they want. When I asked this guy for his name he refuse to answer and told me that he was the boss and owner on the company and no one supervise him. I can't believed that this was happening in the exact day of the move. The supervisor told me that if I don't pay what they want they will leave and I told him that they need to honor the estimate because I told them exactly what I had. They steal $550, the $200 of the deposit and $350 to tell them that if they are not going to honor the price they will not move my belongings. I was ready with the money and the budget to maybe paid a little more but I think that the jump from 1365 to $2996 is unfair and not justified. When I saw reviews like mine before I thought that these cases were isolated but they are all real.

Home Owner

We hired American Van lines. They gave us a quote based on what we said we had. The lead man gave us an estimate of the time he thought it would take to move. us. He then added an extra $300.00 + to the amount it would cost for our move from the original bid. It took them five hours to move what should have took 3. When we arrived at our new house we were almost double what our original bid was and they refused to onload until we payed them. And at the very end they held our last piece of furniture until we gave them another $93.00

I on not have anything nice to say about this company.
