42N Apartments

I have lived at this community for almost two years. Great price for the area and the staff is very helpful. They care for all the residents and truly want you to love where you live. My issues with my apartment and the parking space have been resolved. If you want to live in a quiet, clean community and in a very good school district, 42nd street apartments is the right place.

This is hands down the worst apartment complex I have ever lived in. Ella is the worst landlord I have ever had to deal with. She was good for nothing. All she could do was leave obnoxious notes filled with horrible grammar all over your door about whatever she happened to be annoyed about that week. She was impossible to get a hold of for days on end when a pipe burst and tenants were without running water all that time with no information as to what was going on and when it would be fixed. If anything went wrong in the complex you better hope it was during the limited office hours because if anything happened on her time off she would not hesitate to tell you that she was entitled to her time off and that's why she wouldn’t respond to you, no matter how serious the issue may have been. She will also try and milk you for every penny your worth even if you've already given her a check for whatever ridiculous fee she wants to charge you next and there will be a lot of them. If you're going to live here, make sure you keep good records or you will be subject to extortion. Ella the property manager is completely unprofessional and rude. Every problem that arises is always someone else's fault or she gives you the impression that her hands are tied. She will never take ownership over things that are her responsibility such as the safety of her residents. Everyone upon move in has to sign a contract that there will be no illegal drug use. THIS DOCUMENT IS MEANINGLESS!!! Upon having it brought to her attention that there was drug use and domestic violence going on in her building I was told to call the cops next time and then let her know and she would have him evicted. I did exactly that when the sound of this guy beating his girlfriend was so loud you could hear the sound of his fists hitting her and her screaming. By the time the whole scene ended there were three cop cars and an ambulance that took her to the hospital. I informed the landlord of all this and she did NOTHING!! I had to live above this dangerous felon who was openly selling drugs from his apartment and out in the parking lot. I had to talk to the sheriffs department about this same guy because they were investigating him for child endangerment due to the presence of drugs and violence in the apartment. I had to deal with him and his junkie friends always watching me come and go from the steps to my apartment and seeing his supplier in the white Mercedes hanging around the building. His ever increasing drug ring got to the point where I no longer felt safe being in the apartment at all. Because they were always lurking on the steps, they knew who I was, what car I drove, who my boyfriend was, what car he drove and therefore knew when I was up in my apartment alone. Ended up leaving two months early and having to pay rent on two apartments because I was afraid for my safety. All this time the landlord did absolutely nothing despite many complaints from multiple tenants. Never live in this complex, it is unprofessional, unsafe, and disgusting. Pay the extra money and live in a different and nicer complex.

What a great place !! Very good location, close to USF and great schools for my kids. Large 2 BR, quiet and safe and the rent is really affordable for the area.

The management is very professional and helpful. It was hard to find such a place, but finally I found it !
