Did a great job on my son's foot.

My son had trouble with his foot for a long time and we were grateful for his care. Not only did he know what he was doing we felt that he was easy to talk to. It has been years and I am still recommending him after 4 years.

Plantar Fasciitis
This non-surgical treatment can be an effective therapeutic option if you suffer with chronic plantar fasciitis and heel pain. The great majority of plantar fasciitis cases can be resolved with treatments like orthotic inserts and stretching exercises. If, however, you have tried conventional treatments and are still experiencing pain, ultrasound therapy can provide additional relief. The treatment uses targeted sound waves to break up painful adhesions and scar tissue on the plantar fascia and heel. It increases blood flow and circulation to the injured area, removes waste from the tissue, and reduces swelling and inflammation. This treatment is quick and does not require sedation.
Cryotherapy
Plantar warts are small growths, caused by a virus, that appear on the heels or other weight-bearing areas of your feet. If your warts are painful or spreading, a podiatric consult is recommended to determine the optimal treatment. Options include prescription strength wart medications, cryotherapy or minor surgery.

Skin Cancer
A black toenail can be caused by a fungal infection, melanoma (skin cancer), an injury or trauma, or an underlying medical condition such as diabetes. Any black toenail that doesn’t get better should be medically evaluated to determine and treat the underlying cause.
Corns
This circular, thickened lesion in the skin of the foot differs from a callus in that it has a central core of hard material, typically caused by repeated pressure on the skin. Podiatric care is needed to determine and remove the underlying cause of the corn. Do not attempt to remove a corn yourself or treat it with medicated pads, as serious infection can occur.
Calluses
Each foot care visit includes a cleansing whirlpool therapy session followed by a thorough inspection of your feet. We’ll examine your nails and skin, and note differences in foot temperature that could indicate a circulatory or diabetic problem. We’ll trim your cuticles and nails and look for issues that need to be addressed, such as ingrown or fungal nails, corns or calluses, and abrasions or skin cracks. We’ll massage your feet to enhance circulation, and apply medication and ointments as needed.
Fungus
This skin infection caused by fungus produces itchy, dry, scaling skin, commonly on the soles of the feet and in between the toes. In advanced cases, inflammation, cracks and blisters may form, and a bacterial infection may result. Your foot and ankle specialist will recommend the best treatment for you.

Bunions are a progressive disorder that begins with a leaning of the big toe toward the second toe. They appear as a bump on the side of the big toe, but actually reflect inner changes to the bony part of the foot. Bunions can cause pain, inflammation and redness, burning and even numbness. Treatments include padding, orthotic devices and more. Surgery may be required in extreme cases.

Orthotic devices such as shoe inserts, arch supports, heel liners and braces are designed to support and comfort your feet. They are often needed to correct ailments such as plantar fasciitis, high or fallen arches, heel pain, and flat or aching feet. Correctly prescribed orthotics can decrease or eliminate foot pain, control abnormal motion, and improve overall function. We are pleased to offer prescription orthotics for patients who require this option, but can address most issues with over-the-counter products at a fraction of the cost of custom orthotics.
Hammertoes
Hammer toe is a muscle imbalance around the toe joints that causes the toe(s) to curl upward. It is a progressive condition that will worsen over time without treatment. If you are experiencing hammer toe, seek podiatric care immediately. Hammer toes in their earlier stages are flexible, and they can be managed non-invasively; as they harden, surgical intervention may be necessary.
Heel Spurs
Heel pain is most often caused by heel spurs, calcium growths that develop on the underside of the heel bone due to plantar fasciitis. The plantar fascia, the connective tissue supporting the arch of the foot, acts as a shock absorber when you walk. When it becomes damaged or strained, it causes plantar fasciitis. Treatments include anti-inflammatory medication, stretching exercises, orthotics and more, depending upon the extent of the condition.

This common condition is caused when the side of the nail digs into the skin, creating pain, redness and swelling; a bacterial infection may also develop. Causes include improper nail trimming (cutting the nails too short), improperly sized footwear, heredity or trauma. Treatments vary widely, depending upon the severity of the condition. Consult a podiatric professional, and don’t rely on ineffective, over-the-counter medications.
Metatarsalgia
