I cannot put into words how thankful we were to have worked with Johnel on helping us sell our Elm Street home find and find a new one on Staten Island! From the very beginning, he was just on top of EVERYTHING.
We had an initial sit down to talk about selling our Elm Street home and Johnel was very knowledgeable, polished and professional. He talked about his network of buyers which made us feel comfortable about our OVER half a million dollar asking price. For the new purchase he went over neighborhoods, our budget, etc. and he worked to put together a plan that felt so us, so personalized and yet so professional. He sourced homes for us to check out and it wasn't uncommon to me to receive emails from him in the middle of the night. He was also very much in tune with what our priorities were and convinced us to put our old home in contract first, then to go shopping for our new one, which was great advice! We accepted an offer in one week of our home being on the market, was in contract by the third and closed aprox. 47 days later with Attorney Andrew Klapper (...another STAR!). On top of everything else, Johnel sold us our new beautiful home. Besides his sharp professionalism and attention to detail, he brought personality, humor and levity to every single day, something that I appreciated so much.
I guess it goes without saying, but Johnel will be our agent of choice for all of our future real estate endeavors.

Apartment hunting is not easy. Prior to meeting Johnel, I was dreading the difficulties that go with moving on the Island.

Working with him was an entirely new and positive experience. My boyfriend and I met him in Western Beef handing out his business cards and holding conversations with random shoppers.
He was extremely friendly, patient, and very knowledgeable of the north shore neighborhoods. Unlike many realtors I'v dealt with in the past, I truly felt like he was genuinely dedicated in helping us find a place best suited for our lifestyles. I can't say enough positive things about Johnel. If you choose him you have made the right decision!

Johnel is as thorough and details-orientated as you would want him to be and has your best interests as a home-buyer in mind.
EVEN THOUGH WE DIDNT USE HIM TO PURCHASE THE HOME he knew we are first time home buyers and took every opportunity to pause and explain what everything means. He showed us how to work the thermostat and alarm systems, gave us safety advice for storing items in our utility room, and was truly an advocate.
His approach is almost scientific and his demeanor is professional. He is well-versed, knowledgeable, and fair. He was recommended to us by a friend who used him several years ago for a Certified Home Inspection and still held up to his reputation. His Property Condition Report was very detailed and easy to understand, and his price was reasonable compared to other estimates we got. We are grateful we hired Johnel as our home inspector for the purchase of our first home. We even used his recommendation for home owners insurance!

Johnel is a machine. He doesn't stop to eat or sleep like normal humans. We found him online as a recommended realtor. He was available literally 24 hrs to take our calls like he told us the first time we reached out to him. He's lived in Staten Island all if his life and knows the S.I. like the back of his hand. He worked hard for us and found us our dream apartment. At the end, when it came down to the final 2 options and my husband and I were at a complete impasse, Johnel stepped away to allow us to discuss, but we realized that even though this was a very personal decision, we wanted him to help us decide, so we called him back over. Johnel took us BACK to view the units AGAIN, and never let on if he felt this was a nuisance or a waste of time.

He is part salesperson, part marriage ref, and there were even times that I felt like I was just walking through S.I. with a friend. It can sometimes get awkward spending hours on end with a complete stranger roaming around S.I. being from the BX, but there was never a boring or awkward moment with Johnel. He was personable, talkative and kept my husband and me engaged throughout the entire journey. We get why most of his business is through referrals!

I rarely write reviews but had to write one for Johnel Franks (we call him John), realtor with Plaza Island Properties and the owner of Richmond Property Inspections.
We spoke to three companies, including the big one (I'm not mentioning names) and John won on all fronts. We were not shopping price. We were shopping for a well known knowledgeable realtor, a hustler, someone who was easy to work with and responsive. We got all of that and more!
John and his team, pay attention to detail and do all of the other things you would hope all realtors would do, but typically don't.
John was incredibly patient and accommodating as he needed to coordinate with our attorney and bank. By coordinating the two, John has been able to facilitate our Short Sale going thru without a hitch.
I have to agree with the previous reviewers when it comes to the performance of John.
John was successful in fighting for a mover's assistance allowance which was a pleasant surprise! John is OUTSTANDING!

Johnel Franks is one of the best brokers I've ever worked with. The only thing I hate more then buying with brokers is selling with brokers BUT John changed all that.

He was really honest and upfront which, as I'm sure you know, is rare. I was shocked at the fact that there wasn't any sketchiness involved when he bought his own buyers to the table for my property that he listed in 2017. He listened to my preferences and followed thorough without being pushy. John I can't thank you enough! I now consider you family ya know....thanks for being so professional and diligent!

Johnel far surpassed our expectations again!!! He's a complete gentleman! Pleasant, knowledgeable, friendly, organized and responsive ...Forgetaboutit!

For starters, we purchased this off-market 4 family property from Johnel in 2015. He explained exactly what he was going to do back then, and as I remember we closed on that puppy in less than 30 days!

Mr. Franks is a phenomenal agent, and one that I highly recommend. I was so pleased with his dedication and attitude with helping us sell our home. From the first time we spoke with him he assured us that he could sell our property at 226 Taylor Street even though the home had been vandalized and all the cooper water and heating pipes had been removed.

The very next day Mr. Franks drove from Staten Island down here to Dover Delaware so we could sign the paperwork on an all cash offer for our asking price. We had a closing set for one month later but that got delayed until this following month. All the while Mr. Franks was in contact with us through phone calls, texts and even facetime on our cell phones! Mr. Franks went the extra mile to reassure us that we, our home and the sale were in good hands.

We ended up closing on the sale last week. My husband and I cannot say enough good things about Mr. Franks except that he truly lives up to his reputation.

Occasionally we list our properties with Johnel Franks but when we have multifamily dwellings to rent out we ALWAYS retain Mr. Franks.

We also use his Bird Dog services also to find properties for us to flip. Let me tell you this kid is part scout, detective, and accountant. Very professional and through.

To be honest, we are probably not the easiest company to deal with but he always keeps us in the loop on his progress with any projects we give him and follows our strict guidelines with screening renters.

We read all these reviews and others before we went with him and I can vouch for the fact that all the positive reviews are true. I'm not a huge fan of real estate agents or brokers in the industry but Mr. Franks is a headliner.

We do not hesitate to recommend him to anyone and he will be our go to agent in Staten Island.

If i could give more than 5 stars, i would, because Johnel Franks is truly phenomenal real estate agent, he knows how to put a deal together.
What most new real estate investors don't realize is that your agent can make or break your purchase.
Staten Island is a small city; most realtors know one another and judge seller/buyer by the agent representing them.
in our case, Mr Franks was the key reason we were able to score a major deal with our new investment property in SI. The seller told us flat out that the only reason he went into contract with us was because of Johnels reputation.
All in all, Johnel has a lot of integrity, and was always honest, responsive and diligent.
I wouldn't recommend anyone else looking to buy real estate in SI, investor or otherwise. Johnel is the best of the best.

Have had many dealings with Mr. Franks in the past and always a pleasure dealing with him. He is very honest and professional.



We looked at a lot of places on our own before Mr. Franks started helping us this time. He made himself available in the evenings and on weekends.
