VCA Standish Animal Hospital

Good for preventative vet care, absolutely useless in an emergency. Consistently not there when you really need them. Go elsewhere if you can.

Standish Vet Hospital provides a great service to their community and I took my animals here for many years until I relocated. Unfortunately, I decided to transfer records to a vet hospital closer to my new home for convenience. I quickly discovered I had become accustomed to Standish Vet's professional and compassionate standards. They are worth traveling the extra distance for the health of my animals. I am now grateful again to have Dr. Nelligan and staff caring for my pets!

I've been taking dogs and a cat there for 16 years and have never had a bad experience. They have been compassionate when I needed to put down two dogs and professional when one animal needed multiple surgeries. People are nice, and I have never needed to wait too long to see a doc.

I'm severely disappointed by a select few of the staff at this Vet. They prescribed my cat a new medication without making me aware of the side effects and they shouldnt have prescribed it to an animal with declining liver function. Not to mention they prescribed her the wrong dose! They are constantly saying they will return my call to discuss various issues and compensation but they keep putting it off. This is a very pissed off customer who has many family members in the Sebago Lake area. I made sure everyone heard the story in full detail and now none of them will ever risk bringing their beloved animal here. Dr. Nelligan is a joke and seems very unconfident. He owns the practice and cant man up about their wrongdoings. I've found multiple references and sources supporting my claims, guess its time to call a lawyer and stick it to them since they can't seem to take responsibility!
