- Dr. Samantha Slotnick practices Behavioral Optometry, a holistic approach to vision care. Her practice is in lower Westchester County: Scarsdale, NY. Dr. Slotnick has a diverse background, with undergraduate roots in behavioral psychology as well as physical chemistry, and post-graduate training in behavioral optometry and vision science. This dual training in art and science is the foundation for her thorough, balanced approach to patient care, maintaining attention to detail without losing sight of the big picture. -As a behavioral optometry practice, we take a whole person, holistic approach to vision care. -Rather than treat just the eyes, or even just the visual system, we consider each patient’s needs, traits and lifestyle in conjunction with visual function requirements. -With an eye towards prevention, we manage long-range concerns by addressing problems at the source rather than just treating the symptoms. -Lenses, prisms and filters are prescribed not just for compensation of vision problems, but to therapeutically support our patients. -Vision therapy is offered for active retraining of our use of the eyes and visual information. -Our talented Vision Team is trained to listen to and support every patient. Provided by Doctor.comDr. Slotnick performed a very thorough evaluation on my son. She immediately put him at ease and was caring in her approach. She explained her findings in a way that I could understand and provided me with literature for additional information. I am hopeful that the approach we are taking will greatly help my son. Overall a very positive experience.

Provided by Doctor.comMy daughter attends vision therapy weekly. Everyone is always very pleasant and welcoming to my daughter and me. It is a professional and comfortable atmosphere. Erin has thrived over the last few months and I have seen a tremendous improvement in her organization in her daily life i.e. getting ready for school. In addition, Erin is doing her homework independently as opposed to last year when I would have to sit with her until all her homework was completed. She has become more confident and easy going in the last few months!
