A Mamey Sapote is a large and ornamental evergreen tree. Once the tree reaches maturity, its height can range anywhere from 60 feet to 140 feet. Like other fruit trees, the Mamey Sapote is bred to produce consistent fruit that has the same characteristics of its parents. Breeding the tree is ideal as it takes considerably less time to harvest fruit when compared to planting a seed in the ground. The leaves on each tree tend to be pointy on both ends and can reach up to 12 inches in length. The leaves do not grow individually, but in clusters at the end of each branch.
