West Avenue Panchitos

Since moving here from Atlanta we have been meaning to go to Panchito’s and finally we did. I was so very disappointed in the quality of the food and the atmosphere of the restaurant in general. The whole ordeal started with some very stale chips and dip. The chips must have been days old because they were not crunch, or even warm for that matter. They were simply very stale and chewy.



I had the taco salad; I mean how cam anyone get a taco salad wrong? Panchito’ taco salad was as good as their chips. The taco shell, which in most places I end up eating, was simply uneatable. The shell was stale and chewy just like the chips. For the first time in my life I did not even attempt to eat the taco shell. The salad itself was not much better. I swear the chicken was out of a can, even smelled like it came out of a can; what little there was of it. The inside of the taco salad must have been less than a cup of food. There was maybe a teaspoon of sour cream, and the same with the guacamole sauce. There was so little of it that it was hard to tell if it as any good or not. The overall taste was very bland and, well it had that “out of a can “taste. The tea was okay, but it was served in a glass that looked like it had not been washed in the last week or so.





Overall this was the most disappointing lunch we have had here in San Antonio.
