I went to a gas station on Sunday (09-06-09). I drove up with only 12 miles to go! I put $10 of gas in my car. Without even thinking to look at the gauge I drove off. For some reason, not even a block away, I look down ans it says I have 12 miles to go still... I was shocked! I never had any problem getting gas that I have paid for. I turn around and go right back to the gas station.



I go in and ask the lady if there was a problem with the pump. She looks confused and says no. So I proceed to tell her why I was asking. She said there is no problem and there is gas in the tank. She also said when the tanks are empty the numbers will not continue to keep going, that they stop.



I tell her there has to be something wrong with the pump or it is empty. How can i drive in with only 12 miles to go, pump $10 of gas and STILL leave with only 12 miles??? She calls the owner and asks him if the knows if there are any problems with the pumps. He says no and she explains what is going on.



He tells her there is nothing they can do. I ask to speak with him. He tells me I need to take my car to a mechanic, that its my car that is broken not his pumps. He says "what do you think I am selling air?" He refuses to refund my money and not give me the gas I have paid for. He tells me to call the police and make a police report. I told him that would do me no good because I need the gas I have already paid for to get home. HE REFUSES TO DO EITHER!!!



By this time a guy comes i to pump gas on the same pump. The lady tells him go check your gas gauge, pump your gas and then check your gauge again. If it does not give you gas then I will refund you your money. At tis point I recall a few days before that I came here and put $5 and my gauge did not move then either. But I didnt think about it because I only put $5 and figured well I only got about two gallons. During this time she is STILL on the phone with the owner. He pumps his gas and comes back inside... What a surprise ---- HE GOT NO GAS!!!! He tell her you need to put a bag or sign on the machine so people know its not working. She says yeah I know I am going to go do that right now.



Well two more days have passed and there are NO bags nor signs on the pump. Which makes me wonder how many more people are getting ripped off by this gas station? I know I got my money back because I argued with them and proved I was right. How many people have walked away figuring they are not going to win against them and just leave?
