Great agency. All I can say is that if we decide to adopt again we will go back to Abrazo. We couldn't have asked for better support through the whole process, the ladies at Abrazo went above and beyond for us.

Adoption is not for the weak of heart, nor the weak of character. The ladies at Abrazo strive to find families seeking to adopt children through OPEN adoption relationships, who have true intentions. They service both the expectant/birth parents and adoptive parents with the main goal of matching people who can carry on a relationship that's best for the child being placed. Above all, I would comment that we never had any doubt our case was being handled fully within all legalities and feel confident knowing our child's life plan was treated with respect - as was his birth mother. In the end, does anything else really matter? I'd rather my adoption agency spend time on more important issues than coddling us, to address some negative reviews here. You'll build character along the way no matter what agency you use and adoption is a rollercoaster to say the least, but we'll adopt through Abrazo again. I sleep well at night knowing our child's life began on moral and ethical high ground!

We love this agency. The women who devote their lives to this work are wonderful, professional and compassionate (to all involved in the adoption triad). I would recommend this agency to anyone who has an open mind and is willing to strive to keep their lines of communication open with their child's birthfamily long after placement and finalization. To potential birthparents, this is an agency who can be trusted and promotes openness from the very beginning. The ladies who work in the office are incredible and are looking out for your best interests. I can't say anything but great things about this agency. They are truly amazing!Birthparents and Adoptive Parents have a voice here!

No idea whether the oldest review below is a "plant," but the two previous ones certainly seem to be from the same person, or at least two people who mangle the English language similarly. Just an observation...

Many words come to my mind with Abrazo, but professional is not one of the them. In dealing with the staff (and owner) words like COLD, RUDE come to mind, and even at time hostile. That should have been a lovely process for us, quickly became a nightmare for which we will hopeful forget. Side note, the first and oldest post on here is clearly from the owner, or a staff member of Abrazo. I would not recommend this company.

It was truly unbelievable the level of attitude we experience from the ladies of Abrazo. It was extremely unprofessional and at time drove us to tears. On more then one occasion it was almost hostile having to work with them. All I can say is run run run away.

Highly recommended! Abrazo handled our adoption and they are very professional. We will definitely use them again when we are ready to adopt again.

My daughter got Abrazo's phone number from her doctor. They treated her really good. We never forgot how nice they all were. And we are still in touch with the adopted family today. So if anybody tells us they need help with adoption we tell them go to Abrazo. It's some place you really can trust.

Abrazo is an amazing agency. (Unlike the others listed on this page, this one is actually based in San Antonio!) It's a private, state-licensed, nonprofit agency, with good ethics and a great track record. But more important, Abrazo is made up of women who really care about parents and their children on a personal level. This is the only agency in town with licensed therapists on staff to help birthparents truly understand ALL their options and they practice fully-open adoption to make sure the kids adopted there can grow up with info about and access to their families of origin. As a hospital social worker, I see all kinds of adoptions done by lots of difference professionals but when I get asked what agency is best in my opinion, it's always Abrazo's number I give out. Both for my peace of mind and that of my patients,
