The experience I had was repulsive. I once owned a restaurant and was a foodie blogger and if I could give you some advice I would tell you your staff needs to listen to their customers no matter if they have a reservation or not. As I was glancing at the reviews on this web page the one thing I noticed is that business parties gave the best reviews. I should of taken my own advice and read reviews before trying your restaurant. My husband and I decided to go out on our anniversary we decided to try some place new it was I that suggested Christopher's. We went without a reservation, we arrived only to find there was no host at the station, there was a couple before us who said they had been standing there for 10 minutes. A waitress came to the station put up her finger indicating please wait and answered the phone. She didn't tell that guest on the phone to please wait while she obtain the hostess, she just kept talking to this client about a party they wanted to book. It took her another 10 minutes to end that conversation. After the call she looked at the customers waiting (2 more parties arrived behind us) and asked who is next, but didn't help the first customer she informed them after they told her they didn't have a reservation she would get the hostess. The hostess arrived and told that customer that she would look to find a table. That night I noticed many empty tables she didn't appear to look at any seating sheet but walked into the almost empty dining hall glanced around came back and seated them in the east wing not the west where she walked to take a look. We also advised her we didn't have a reservation. She did the same thing walked, glanced and then seated us in the west wing. As I was walking to our table I noticed crumbs on top of stained carpets, the room was dim and there was two couples complaining about the service already. I should of turned around at that point, but we wanted to have a good time regardless, so I stayed. We decided to go with your tasting special. We ordered two glasses of wine and I mentioned that we would like to start with lobster wontons. When they arrived we told the waitress that we wanted the Prix Fixe Dinner $34. She said we should of informed us before we ordered the wontons because they are different, my husband asked what the difference was and she said they are smaller and fewer which my husband informed her that he would pay the difference and would that be a problem. She said no very disparagingly but took away the wontons. Did she not listen? That's when I said let's go. We paid for the wine service which we never touched and went to The Tiburon which we didn't have a reservation, procured seating within 2 minutes and service was excellent. If I went to Goodwood or McGrath's I know they would of treated me like The Tiburon did that night.
