Terrible all the way around! Dr Jason Hodge sold me a $250 night guard I prob didn't even need when I told him I was going to be getting braces. He promised he would remake it for me after he did my braces. Now he won't do it unless I pay for another night guard. Get EVERYTHING in writing! got 3 quotes for braces over 2 years I was seeing him and each time it went up more than $1,000! He wouldn't make me a retainer that I had already prepaid for with my braces because he "couldn't do that". I already paid for it! A year later I'm still getting bills sent to me from visits where the insurance didn't pay and threats that it will be sent to collections. I've called several times to work it out and was told to ignore them. Finally I got a call saying I actually did owe the money for medicated mouth wash that I was told would be $20 and I paid out of pocket for in the office. But apparently it really cost $50 and so now I had to pay the difference. Don't go to Dr Hodge!!!

SCAMMERS! I went to Apex Dental because they had a new patient special of $69. As it turns out they were just luring me in there to sell expensive unnecessary treatments. The hygienist checked the depth of the pockets in my gums and told me that I have 5mm pockets in all quadrants of my mouth which means I have beginning gum disease. This was a shock to me because I brush and floss daily and haven't had any bleeding or pain. They told me that I need to come in for a deep cleaning/scaling and it would cost $620 not to mention at least 3 hours of pain. As well as coming in every 3 months after that to get a regular cleaning, $220, to keep the gum disease in check. She showed me videos to pressure me into the sale and pointed out areas on my x-rays that she said I have bone loss. When I told them that there is absolutely no way I can afford it and I just want the regular cleaning that comes with the new patient deal, they said they can't do it because they would be held liable. The manager also pressured me into getting the deep cleaning despite not having the money and said, "Ask your mom for the money." I was shocked again. Who tells a 30-something year old adult to beg their parents for money? I went home and immediately made an appointment with another dentist, Dr. Paul Baugh, for a second opinion. Turns out that the hygienist at Apex was exaggerating in order to make a sale. I only have two 4mm pockets and they can be resolved without the expensive, painful, and frequent treatments. **The nightmare of Apex Dental doesn't want to end, today I received a bill in the mail saying that I still owe them $198.**
