Veneers
Dr. Schlueter and Dr. Boszko do not do dental veneers specifically, but surgically exposing the full natural crowns in a short tooth or gummy smile situation is an alternative and may be covered by insurance.
Crowns
Most have probably seen people with what you would consider short teeth, or a “gummy” smile. While it may appear that their teeth are shorter than normal and caps or crowns are thought to be needed. It’s often just a case of the teeth being hidden behind the gums. By repositioning the gum line, you can improve your smile and the contours of your face without having to cut the teeth permanently to fit crowns on them.
Bridges
For those patients who have not lost significant amounts of bone “standard” crowns and bridges can be done on a full arch of dental implants. These are cemented in crowns just like those placed on natural teeth. This is the most natural option for replacement of all teeth.

Periodontal Surgery
Dr. Scott Schlueter and Dr. Trinity Boszko are extensively trained in implantology and are experts in periodontal surgery. They help their patients through a conservative treatment approach emphasizing non-surgical treatment and gentle surgical treatment when needed for gum disease, aesthetic smile enhancements and dental implants that can replace single or multiple missing teeth.

Dentures
For those patients missing all their lower teeth a popular option is the “fixed detachable” or hybrid denture. After placement it stays in all the time and can only be removed by a dental professional.
Overdentures
In other cases different abutment types can be attached to implants for an implant supported overdenture that snaps in place. The prosthesis does not move around, and doesn’t require denture glues. The implants can minimize pressure on the gums which avoids food getting under the denture and injuring the tissue. The implants supporting a denture will help maintain the existing bone, resulting in preserving the facial youthfulness.

LANAP® laser treatment is in a word – revolutionary. LANAP® laser gum surgery is a minimally invasive therapy for the treatment of periodontal disease, and is a virtually painless alternative to many of the more traditional periodontal procedures.
Osseous Surgery
This type of procedure is most appropriate for periodontal defects that have resulted in shallow ditched out areas in the bone that are a result of periodontal disease. This procedure is accomplished by numbing the area with local anesthetic. The surgery requires reducing excess tissue and reshaping the supportive underlying bone around the teeth, thus removing the ditching in the bone. The areas are closed with dissolvable stitches and a putty material is usually placed over the surgical site. This putty has no medication in it, so if it becomes loose and is removed earlier then 4 days, this should not be a problem. The procedure usually only requires a one and six week follow-up to verify the healing progress of the area.

During this procedure, a few small incisions are made, and an antibiotic saturated bone-grafting material is placed under the gums. The graft is placed over the areas where the bone needs to be softened. This allows for easy tooth movement. The newly formed supporting bone will aid in holding the straightened teeth.

Orthodontics
Many patients decline needed orthodontic work because of the time commitment. A new orthodontic treatment called Accelerated Osteogenic Orthodontics (AOO), results in most orthodontic cases completed 3 to 4 times faster than with conventional orthodontics.
Braces
Because of the dense nature of bone, it changes very slowly. By performing a periodontal procedure, the dense bone is softened which accelerates the process. The softened bone then allows the teeth to moved orthodontically to their new position more quickly. Braces and specialized Wilckodontics appliances are required to move the teeth. Once in position, the teeth are held in place while the bone hardens around them.
