A graduate of the University of Missouri – Columbia, Dr. Hulsey completed his internship in general surgery and his orthopedic surgery residency at Washington University School of Medicine, returning after completing his fellowship to work as an instructor of orthopedic surgery from 1988 to 1992. He joined Orthopedic Associates in 1992 and currently serves as the group’s president.

He completed a fellowship in sports medicine at Rush Presbyterian, St. Luke’s Hospital in Chicago. “I went there for a diabetic foot exam. Another doctor that I saw told me that I have diabetic neuropathy even though he didn’t review me and wasn’t a podiatrist. Dr. Aaranson did exam me and said my feet are excellent and that I don’t have diabetic neuropathy. The only issue I have is a slight ingrown toenail and if they get worse to call and let him know. My feet issues are from my back issues and not from being a diabetic like the other doctor said who didn’t even exam me.”
