After years as a primary care physician with one of St. Louis' premier group practices, Dr. Bligh developed health problems that led him to examine conventional medical wisdom on aging and disease. He noted a drop in energy, muscle mass, and overall vitality, despite years devoted to sports, a healthy diet, and aerobic/resistance training. Still, an extensive medical evaluation produced a clean bill of health. His colleagues welcomed him to the aging baby boomer club with a smile and slap on the back. Dr. Bligh wasn't convinced.

Dr. Bligh started his career at St. Anthony Hospital in St. Louis, MO as an emergency room medical doctor. He proceeded into private practice with the Clinic of Internal Medicine, the oldest private practice in St. Louis, and had one of the largest internal medicine practices in St. Louis before he converted to his own private practice. He opened the practice in August of 2003 in Town and Country, Missouri. His private retainer practice is limited to 500 patients to provide quality physician-to-patient care. He also has an age management practice and a Bio-Identical HRT practice.

As a child I experienced eczema, especially during cold weather. I remember it starting as young as 5 or 6. It was mostly on my elbows and knees with some itching on my scalp. My mom used vaseline and moisturizer but it did not help much. Actually, I found dry skin just something I sort of lived with. About 15 years ago it got really bad. I had 2 winters of really nasty psoriasis. It was treated by a dermatologist with light treatment. I had to stand almost naked in a dark booth under some sort of light 5 days a week starting with about 20 seconds the first day, then working up to about 15 minutes over a period of 6 weeks until it cleared. My skin was still itchy but the large patches of red rashes all over my body that were sore and itched all the time finally cleared. I have also been diagnosed with Sjogren's Syndrome which is an autoimmune problem.
