Jan & Jims Hallmark

Yesterday (August 6th 2014) I decided to stop into this cute little Hallmark because it's right next to the post office that I was at. Started walking around and was greeted very respectfully by an older woman with blonde hair. I was looking for presents for my little siblings so I asked if they had any pillow pets. She said no but kindly pointed me to some other stuffed animals. I thanked her and she continued at the register. About five minutes later another older woman with brown short hair walks out of the back room and begins to help costumers at the register. When the costumers leave and I'm one of the very few people in the store she asks if I need help. I say no thank you and walk towards the ornaments. While I'm looking at the ornaments I hear her ask the other sales associate "do you know what she's looking for?". The other sales lady says "gift items". I pick up 2 Star Wars ornaments and continue walking around browsing. The sales associate with brown hair didn't even try to hide the fact that she was following me. She asks me if she can put my items at the cash register for me. Really? I've been here with my mom several times and never been asked but I say "no thank you" because at that point I wasn't sure if I was going to buy them. I was pretty annoyed. After another few minutes of being followed I decide I'm just gonna put the ornaments back and leave. When I turn around she's conveniently behind me, reading the greeting cards and adjusting the nick nacks on the shelves. I put the ornaments back and turn around and what do you know? She's staring at me through the glass and thinks I don't notice. I duck behind a display and very loudly unzip my purse and pull out my phone and zip my purse back up as I walk past her. She tells the other lady to stay at the counter and follows me almost completely out the door. Don't worry lady, I didn't steal your precious Star Wars ornaments, but it was good getting your old knickers in a twist.



But seriously, every time I go in there I'm dressed very nicely and have all my tattoos covered. Yesterday I went in dressed like a slob and my hair up. You shouldn't profile people and make them uncomfortable in your store and you shouldn't be so uptight and rude.

This is a very caring store. The Lord is definitely working in the lives of the owners and their employees.
