Advanced Counseling Services St Clair Shores

My daughter and I have both been going here for counseling off and on for years and see the same counselor Maria L. She is awesome! I would highly recommend her as a counselor for marriage or individual counseling. A good counselor is often hard to find but she is definitely a great counselor. The receptionists there have always been polite and I have never had a negative experience with any of the staff there. I would highly recommend my counselor and this facility

I love the therapist my daughter is seeing but the receptionist is rude and unhelpful.

My therapist was sweet, but ultimately ineffective. My real anger came when we tried to schedule an appointment with a psychiatrist. After 3 failed attempts (because of the doctor's schedule!) I finally got in to see her. She was rushed and only gave me a sheet of paper and left the room. It was a 20 point questionnaire and after returning a good 15 minutes later, looked at the sheet of paper and said, "So I think you're borderline bi-polar..." and gave me an outdated sample set of bi-polar medication. I was severely depressed, not bi-polar. My mother is a psychiatric social worker and would be the first perosn to tell me if I was bi-polar. All in all, it was a bad experience. I would not reccommend their services.
