The Ale House is very nice; it is half bar half dining. The dining area is nice, the waiters are nice, but then there’s the food. It is too complex for an ale house and it is not very good. Their salad has huge lettuce leaves (making it very difficult to eat), a slice of carrot, and only two salad dressings. Their pulled pork is bland, their ribs were overcooked and too complex with pomegranate bbq sauce, their scallops are too complex with hazelnuts and other unusual extras, and worst of all their prices are too expensive compared to the quality of their food. For example their fish and chips are $13.00. It is too loud too; you can’t even hear the person talking right next to you. I would only give this restaurant one and a half stars!

Good Food & Beer; Too Many Rules

This brew pub has potential. Food is good, fries excellent. Great everchanging selection of beer, but that's the only alcohol. If you're a wine drinker going out with beer drinkers you'll have to bring your own. There are unfortunately too many rules and they do not waver. We were a party of six on one occasion and were told that there was a one and a half hour time limit for the table because we had 6 people. We thought it rather rude that we were told this. If they want to keep people moving they need to speed up the food service a lot and get the check to the table. The food service can be slow. They have a strict rule about when the lunch menu ends and the dinner menu starts. Dinner starts at 5 so if you're there at 4:50 you either need to wait till 5 to order or you order from the lunch menu. Don't even think about asking to substitute sides with your sandwich. That is a big No No. I enjoyed going here on several occasions when they first opened with just my husband. I don't know if they can't handle crowds or what but when I've been there with groups it's seemed knid of unfriendly. I think the owners here had a great idea. I've met them; they are nice people but they need to lighten up!
