just picked it up from a reputable shop $1200 later...

DAVE is not a nice guy, actually quite the ahole, he acts like he is doing you a favor!!!!

charged me for a rebuild and put a greasy used trans in my truck i dont think they know how to rebuild a trans!

Had four transmission rebuild at Dave's on fairfield all failed. Coming here is a coin flip you get what you pay for Avoid Dave's transmission THESE GUYS ARE HACKS AMETURES. AWFUL. BETTER TO PAY MORE AND GET IT DONE RIGHT THE FIRST TIME.

DO NOT take your car there!!!! My husband has been a mechanic for 40 years. They talked to him like he was an idiot. He spent almost $800 and they DID NOT fix his car!! It was WORSE than when he brought it to them! AND it took almost a MONTH! He brought it back because it was under warranty and they said it wasn't the transmission!! WHY DIDN'T they tell him that before they took his money!! Now the car is unable to be driven, except around town!! CHEATS! DISHONEST! RUDE!! I REPEAT DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR THERE! THEY FIX THE POLICE CARS SO THEY WONT DO ANYTHING! It deserves negative number of stars but I had to put 1, just to WARN YOU!!

Brought my Honda in to have the transmission fluid changed. After driving the car home and parking in the garage, husband took it to work the next day and I came home to find a giant puddle of transmission fluid on the floor of the garage. My husband looked under the car at work, found that the plug for transmission fluid was loose. He hand tightened it, then I called Dave's to be told to just bring the car back tomorrow. Had to take time off work to drop the car off the next day. They admitted to not putting the plug back in properly, I expressed my frustration, but the guy was rude and told me to call tomorrow. Called the next day to be apologized to and told they didn't know what they could do to compensate me. Said they would call me Monday, but never heard from them. Paid for my transmission fluid change and ended up having to pay to clean up the fluid on my floor and lost my car for another day! Never would I recommend this repair shop. If I hadn't noticed the leak, could have blown my transmission!!!

one of daves employees took my car out for a joy ride blew my motor but 4 dents in my car and wouldnt pay for the damages...i didnt have time to take him to court because i moved to florida the next week but swore to myself that id do anything to tarnish the reputaion of dave transmisssions so no one els would suffer like i did

I took my car to Daves for a transmission rebuild. It was in their possession for over a month before I got it back. I think i only got it back then because i called everyday for a week until it was done.

I picked it up and drove it around for a while since it had been sitting for so long and noticed a rattling while the car was idling. Took it to my regular mechanic and the trans mount was bad and the bolts holding it on were loose. This should have been caught and repaired/replaced before the car was returned to me so I didn't have to waste my time getting it repaired elsewhere. If notified I would have authorized the repairs. I called Daves to let him know what happened and was told that his mechanic told me about the mount ( not true as I would have never left with it like that). He offered to fix it for free (after getting offened that i was telling him about this and insulting my auto shop) but I am having my own trusted auto shop do it. I will spend the extra $200 at a place that doesn't give me the run around. I can't afford to be without my car for another 2 weeks. Buyer beware. You get what you pay for.

When I lived in Round Lake if my car needed repairs I always took it to Dave's. His prices have always been more than fair and the work excellent. Hey Dave can you open a shop in Saint Louis.

i need all the peoples who are effected email me at seanloveable@gmail.com. we all need to take this thief big fraud person out of business. he is protected by county police because he fix county cars, he might give top boss or mayer some percentage every month thats no body take action agains him. nobody knows how much he is robbing county police too. call BBB.org or take him in a court. he give me estimate of $200 and now asking me $1400 to fix or give him title so he can sell it. i am suing him. i need everybody who is effected call mayer(he might be involve too), Better business beauro or take him in a court. he is robbing from a lot of innocent people. dont expect police or mayer do anything agains him because they might getting big bucks too.

Let me tell you, if you actually need your car, that is, if you drive your car daily or weekly, don't take it here, unless you can afford some down-time. LOTS of DOWN TIME.

This was for me, the absolute worst experience I have had, as a consumer, in my 50 years.

It took them no less than FOUR WEEKS to fix my car!!!!! FOUR WEEKS!!

They never called me to give an update, never called back when I called them, were rude to my wife and myself when we asked for the car after THREE WEEKS.

Did I mention THEY LIE? I caught this yahoo in several obviously stupid lies. THAT might be a bigger reason FOR YOU NOT TO GO THERE, than the FOUR WEEKS.

This man insulted me with his total lack of customer service, his assumption that we are all idiots, and his stupid lies.

I am only posting this to warn others of the misfortune that will befall, if you use this poor excuse for a service company.

would not recomend. unhappy with our repair. trans leaks, exhaust had to come off for trans to come out. now our exhaust rattles against frame and we had to have it cut and welded straight. very messy work area....
