DON'T WAIST YOUR MONEY ON THIS PLACE! Paid over $200.00 for 15 minutes of work (the part was $23.00) and the guy couldn't even reinstall the appliance right. Will never call this place again if I need an appliance fixed.

We used A-1 Appliance to come fix our washing machine. They were in and out, fixed the problem, and we were charged $160 for the repair (Diagnostic fee, labor charge, and fee for the part). Even though I think it is expensive, I understand that they need to make money and that is probably a comparable fee from any repair business. My husband did not feel the same way and called later that evening and put in a complaint because he thought the charge was excessive. Not even two weeks later did my washing machine stop working again (I honestly think it was a different problem), so I called them back to have them check out the problem again. I asked them that if it was the same problem, would they honor their previous work and not charge me for this second visit. They said absolutely. The next available time for them to come was in four days (because of the weekend). So I waited, and the morning of their scheduled day to come, they called and told me that they were going to give me a refund for their previous work and suggested I find another company to do the work. When I asked why they told me, "we don't feel we can give you the service you require." I asked them if it had to do with my husband's complaint call and they said yes. They said they felt they would be doing us a "disservice" if they had to charge us an amount we didn't want to pay. I told him that was ridiculous because bottom line, we needed our washing machine fixed and just because someone complains about having to pay for these "unexpected charges" for a repair, doesn't mean we wouldn't pay. I think anyone would be frustrated about having to pay for two repair charges in less than a month, but it doesn't mean I'm mad at them...just mad at my stupid washing machine. They just get the brunt of the customer's frustration. I truly did feel that their charges were fair (as fair as can be considering the business), but I was inconvenienced by having to wait for a repair man, then have the repair be canceled last minute just because they didn't want to receive another angry phone call from my husband. I don't feel as though what they did was very professional. I would not recommend this company.
