Over an 11-year period, approximately 15,000 injections were administered in Dr. Gaby's outpatient setting to an estimated 800-1,000 different patients. Conditions that frequently responded included asthma attacks, acute migraines, fatigue (including chronic fatigue syndrome), fibromyalgia, acute muscle spasm, upper respiratory tract infections, chronic sinusitis, and seasonal allergic rhinitis. A small number of patients with congestive heart failure, angina, chronic urticaria, hyperthyroidism, dysmenorrhea, or other conditions were also treated with the Myers' protocol and most showed marked improvement. Many relatively healthy patients chose to receive periodic injections because it enhanced their overall wellbeing for periods of a week to several months.
Medical Weight Loss
I would offer a cautionary opinion on the ketogenic diet. I think the ketogenic diet works great for weight loss, but long-term use can be risky since it has been reported to increase uric acid and cause high cholesterol and kidney stones, but I have other concerns. One is that metabolism of saturated fats involves an oxidative process that increases the production of free radicals and inflammatory mediators. That's why it's essential to eat sufficient fruits and vegetables to counteract the oxidative/inflammatory process. My other concern is high-protein meat-based diets can increase levels of homocysteine if you don't eat enough fruits and vegetables or are deficient in methylated B vitamins, especially if you have an MTHFR mutation. If you decide that keto is the way to go, you should monitor your oxidized cholesterol to be sure you are getting enough antioxidant protection and that your homocysteine level doesn't get too high.

Patients may have had health problems for many years due to Candida and their condition never gets properly diagnosed. Sometimes the problem starts shortly after taking antibiotics. At other times the symptoms develop gradually over a number of years, perhaps from taking antibiotics during childhood for ear infections or teenage years for acne. The go-to treatment for years has been over-the-counter antihistamines. Allergic reactions trigger the release of histamine by the body’s immune cells, which causes most of the symptoms associated with allergies. However, this is only treating one aspect of an allergic reaction. When allergic reactions occur, your body also releases a wide variety of inflammatory mediators throughout the body. Since every organ system in the body is susceptible to inflammation, allergies have the potential to cause a lot more than just hayfever. Electrocardiogram
The actual treatment process is ingenious in its overall simplicity. There is no need for injections, needles or catheters. During EECP treatments you lay on a special bed with a series of blood pressure cuffs wrapped around your legs. You are hooked up to a computerized EKG system, which triggers the cuffs to inflate and deflate in sync with the heart beat. You are administered high levels of oxygen. During the resting phase of your heart, the cuffs inflate, pumping oxygen rich blood to your heart, body core and throughout your body. When your heart pumps, the cuffs rapidly deflate and the blood vessels expand creating a vacuum-like effect so blood gets ejected from the heart with less work for the heart muscle. You get a the benefits of a second heart pumping between each heartbeat acting as an auxiliary heart. The procedure is not painful- you will feel a strong squeezing sensation as the cuffs sequentially inflate upward over the calves, thighs and buttocks.

On the other hand, I have seen patients who had great success with LDA by following little if any of the rules. I was shocked one morning about 15 years ago when a 9-year-old boy with ADHD, who had improved markedly since doing LDA, started eating candy right in front of me, just after I gave him his LDA shot. His mother was there with him and admitted that she was completely unable to control his diet and gave up. After that I began to question my other LDA patients (nonjudgmentally) about how strictly they were following the guidelines. I was quite surprised that many of them who experienced major improvements on LDA had not been complying the recommended protocol. On the other hand, I have seen patients who have gotten worse because they did not follow the guidelines, but this only happens in patients with extreme sensitivities.

The vascular dementias are the second leading cause of dementia. They are a diverse group of degenerative brain disorders characterized by a range of blood vessel abnormalities. Vascular dementia also known as multi-infarct dementia or post stroke dementia is very common in older adults with dementia with about 50% having pathological evidence of vascular dementia. Cerebral microvascular disease is indicated by the presence of white matter lesions frequently seen on CT scans. (Experimental Physiology 16 January 2009). The incidence of vascular dementia, but not Alzheimer's disease has gradually decreased since 1977 most likely due to improved treatments for cardiovascular disease. (N Engl J Med 2016 374:523-532). Commenting on this, Alan Lerner, M.D., stated "We know what good for the heart is good for the brain". Again supporting my proposition that dementia and heart disease share very similar causes.
Chemotherapy
Mold exposed patients often become colonized. Colonization generally only involves the superficial tissues that line the body; which is the skin and mucosal system. The mucosal system includes the nose, sinuses, throat, bronchial tree, esophagus, stomach and intestinal tract. Rarely does mold invade the organs, which only occurs in someone who is severely immunocompromised, such as patients with AIDS or those going through chemotherapy for metastatic cancer.

Sciatica
Neural therapy was discovered by two German brothers, Ferdinand and Walter Huneke, in 1925. Neural therapy attempts to restore normal function of the autonomic nervous system. The goal is to eliminate autonomic nervous system dysfunctions and re-establish normal electrical conditions in nerves and the tissues supplied by them. The treatment can be used to treat a wide variety of symptoms, including pain of most varieties, chronic headaches, neuralgia, sciatica, back pain, joint inflammation, asthma, and many other conditions. The treatment is done by the injection of a local anesthetic, procaine, either into the skin or into deeper tissues.

It is very important to note that LDA is dramatically effective for the treatment of eczema of all kinds. When you compare this to the usual dermatological treatment with topical steroids that is not really curative and goes on essentially forever, well, there is no comparison. LDA immunotherapy has worked well for angioedema, which consists of facial swelling, swelling of the lips or eyes or swelling of other parts of the body, primarily as a result of acute and chronic food allergy, but can be caused by many substances. There is no safe and effective traditional immunotherapy for this condition. The best conventional treatment can do with these conditions is by advising avoidance (when the substance is known) and using drug therapy and epinephrine to treat the problem.
Fungus
Urinary mycotoxin testing can assess the degree of exposure and what types of fungus the patient has been exposed to. Mycotoxins can also be tested from nasal and sinus swabs and/or lavage.
Lesions
The idea that blood vessel damage is primary in causing dementia has a long history of documentation in medical research. More recent studies from Yale University indicate that in Alzheimer's, initial pathological changes involve oxidative induced inflammatory damage to small blood vessels. The subsequent reduction in blood flow activates amyloid-processing enzymes and other pro-inflammatory factors, leading to the lesions characteristic of Alzheimer's disease. (FASEB J.2011 Jan;25(1):5-13).

Environmental Medicine physicians order routine blood tests if they have not been done recently. Allergy testing is usually recommended. Most patients with chemical sensitivities have allergies they don't recognize, especially food allergies. Patients with MCS can reduce their level of sensitivity by lowering” the total load” from other allergens and stressors. Identifying and eliminating these other allergens and stressors is essential. We do very detailed allergy testing for food and inhalant allergens Including dust, dust mites, mold, animal danders. (See allergy section for more details).
