Tony's Spunky Steer

I have only been here a few times, the food is mediocre. This means ok. The food at : Steer N' Stein , in Rancho Cucamonga , Calif. Is much better and more tasty. The food at Steer N' Stein is more juicy and the well done steaks , don't have that burned flavor. The waitresses here at Tony's Spunky Steer are biased. They do their best to avoid customers they don't like. Most of the waitresses look angry, depressed and significantly constipated. I would suggest , Ex Lax. Yet, they might be in denial. We noticed one waitress. She left $5.00 on the table. She was hoping a customer would take it. For entrapment. She was trying to set up a customer. Next: We noticed the tall male Hispanic adult waiter. We noticed on two occasions male customers complaining. Because he addresses customers none white as the derogatory word :( Dude ). This is very unprofessional. This can have a derogatory over tones. To mean: Unintelligent, ignorant ranch hand on a farm. Only intelligent to shovel horse feces. The waiter was asked by customers to call them : Sir. He laughs. Then does it again. He brags this is his second job. Who cares. His job is customer service. He should treat people like he wants to be treated. The owner and manager must condone of his actions . He is still employed as a waiter? He has shared this raunchy joint is closing in four months. Who cares. The food is too expensive. The well done steak is dry and like burned flavor. The prices too high for trash. The waitresses, try to avoid customers they pretend they don't see. So they sent over the waiter , that claims he is the assistant manager. He uses: Condescending words to address customers of color. Yet, he addresses male white adult customers as : Sir. He should call all male customers as : Sir. and address all female customers as: Miss. Derogatory words such as : Dude, Homie, Man, Fool, Dog, are all derogatory words. They should not be used when addressing any customer. This is biased selective enforcement. A violation of : Calif. Gov. Code: 12900. Plus: A violation of Calif. Penal Code: 415. Under Offensive words. This is why I gave this piss poor joint one star. When they close, I won't feel bad. Maybe some one can put a , Steer N' Stein ? Now they have excellent customer service. Plus: Have real cooks. Not Home Depot , parking lot vagrants cooking. Will Work For Food Sign People None Cooks.

We hadn’t dined at Spunky Steer for awhile. We previously had been regular diners (about once a month) in the past. I was absolutely shocked to see a 25% increase in menu prices since our last visit. Previously we had ordered their 16 oz. Stockyard for $16.00. We found the price on this particular menu item had risen to $20.00. Aside from the fact that the 1000 island dressing now tastes like pure pickle relish the steaks we received were extremely substandard. They were chewy and sinewy. I ordered my steak medium and it came out well done. When I sent it back the second one, which was CTO was, however, inedible due to sinew and ligamentous tissue throughout. I asked the server if it was possibly a flank steak and he assured me it was a sirloin. The meat quality has gone downhill (unlike their prices). We were unable to get much attention from our server. When ended up tracking down our own to-go container so we could leave. This will be my last visit.

I use to love the food here. The Stockyard was a favorite of mine. However, after the miserable experience I had tonight I will never go back. We get seated right away which was good, the busser took our drink order and the drinks came back and the way he served them the drinks were all over the place on the table. The waitress did the same thing with the refills and never once offered to clear the mess. My potato came out with cheese on it and the cheese was spilling onto my steak, problem was I didn't order cheese. I sent it back and got the cheese scooped out of the potato but when my plate came back the cheese was still on the steak. It was nasty nacho cheese on my steak, so I asked the waitress to get me a new steak, not an unreasonable request since I want steak sauce on my steak not cheese. Well I got extreme attitude so at that point we decided we were done there and would not be eating.



I go to the front to complain, not only about the cheese but mostly about the nasty attitude Danielle the waitress gave me for not just accepting my cheese steak and asking for a new one. Instead of getting a chance to voice my annoyance I get the cashier charge me $6.47 for my drinks! The same drinks that were spilled all over the table by the busser and waitress. So we pay for our drinks and leave. I call later and ask for the manager. The same cashier said that they were working the floor and couldn't take my call.



So I'm out $6.47 and have a ruined night because I didn't accept the nasty food that was sent to my table! I've been coming here since I was a kid when we lived in Mira Loma and this was called Steer and Stein but I will never, ever, ever come back.

This is the best place to go for a good honest meal at a fair price and good friendly service service.

Spunky steer has a family atmosphere, with standard restaurant fare. It almost seems like going back a few decades. It is comfortable and friendly with lots of dinner choices, including daily specials. The wait staff includes people who have worked there for years and know their menu well. It is a pleasant place to eat.
