Tim's Contracting

This company is a fraud, and so is Tim.

After picking this company from a list of contractors on Google, Yelp, and Yellow pages, I scheduled a meeting with Tim for July 24, 2020 to review the scope of the project and to estimate the costs. We wrote up a contract, and I paid half of the contract amount up front, with an agreed upon start date of August 10, 2020, and completion by the last week of August 2020.

I text Tim on August 7, 2020 to confirm the start date was still on target, but received no reply. There was bad weather in the area on August 10, 2020, so I thought that may have hampered the start. I texted again on August 10, 2020 asking if the start would be the following day, but also got no reply. I phoned a couple of times that day as well, and received no answer. At that time, I became suspicious, and began my own investigation into Tim (should have happened before the contract signing and payment made). I came across the BBB complaint dated March 2019 that detailed a situation exactly like mine where half was paid and Tim disappeared. This is when I knew I had become a fraud victim.

I have continued to attempt to contact Tim, to no avail. My money has been paid but no work has been done, and no communication has taken place. Tim has a pattern of fraud, and cannot and/or should not be trusted, and should be arrested before more victims are made.

August 23, 2020 Update
I contacted the Racine Police Department around 12:00pm on August 17, 2020 to report I had been defrauded and to point out the pattern of fraud perpetrated by Tim. My information was taken by an officer, and I was told he would attempt to make contact with Tim. At 1:12pm, Tim texted me indicating that he would in fact finish the job by the contract end date of August 31, 2020. The officer called me about at 2:00pm indicating he had just spoken to Tim, and wanted to confirm that Tim and I had an understanding that the job would be completed by month’s end, and I confirmed that with the officer.

A visit to the property on August 21, 2020 indicated the job had not yet begun.

After some research, including public records, I located another one of Tim’s 2018 victims and was told by that victim he has received calls from 20-25 different people over the past couple of years expressing concern that they had been victimized by Tim.

August 31, 2020 Update
As of end of work day on Monday, August 31, 2020, no work had been started or completed by Tim on the project, and no refund had been received from Tim to me.
