New Horizons Montessori School has two locations, one in Princeton Junction, NJ, and the other in Montgomery, NJ. We offer programs for children between the ages of 2 months and 10 years that includes Half Days, Full Days, and Full-Day Extended. We also offer Full Day Kindergarten and the Enrichment Kindergarten Programs for children who attend half day at public elementary schools along with our Nursery School, Preschool, and Summer Camp programs. The Montessori Method has been used in different cultures and countries around the world and continues to be a very popular method of teaching for over a century. It is a child-centered environment. All the materials are easily within the childs reach and placed on shelves at their eye level. The teacher plays a very unobtrusive role in the classroom. The children are motivated by the teacher, and she encourages their need for self development. The Montessori method of education teaches each child with a customized Lesson Plan. Montessori recognizes that each child learns at a different pace and allows that growth to take place. Children learn through practicing tasks rather than through listening and having to memorize. There is an emphasis on concrete learning rather than on abstract learning.
