Over the next 10 years, Dr. Helvey grew a successful practice focusing on cosmetic and restorative dentistry, married his wife Magdalena, and had their son Aleksander. Apicoectomy

After his residency, he went on to a 21 year private practice career in South New Jersey growing his office to the largest dental surgical specialty practice in his 3 county area. In private practice, he performed all types of hard and soft tissue grafting techniques along with traditional periodontal procedures aimed at saving teeth. He has placed over 10,000 implants in his career and is proud to have used CT technology (3D Imaging) for enhanced diagnosis, treatment planning and guided surgery during the majority of his practice career. He is also one of few specialists in this area that is certified in the Chao Pinhole Surgical Technique which is a scalpel-free, suture-free procedure for correcting gum recession.

Oral Surgery
Following dental school, a one year hospital general practice residency at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia was completed. While attending his residency, Dr. Khalifa successfully completed training in Emergency Medicine, Oral Surgery, Plastic surgery and Internal Medicine as well as General Hospital Based Dentistry.
Tooth Extractions
Tooth extraction is usually relatively straightforward, and the vast majority can be usually performed quickly while the individual is awake by using local anesthetic injections to eliminate painful sensations. Local anesthetic blocks pain, but mechanical forces are still felt. Some teeth are more difficult to remove for several reasons, especially related to the tooth's position, the shape of the tooth roots and the integrity of the tooth. Extractions can be qualified as "Simple Extractions" which do not involve the refection of the gum tissue or "Surgical Extractions" where the tooth may be broken down or fractured and reflection of the gum tissue is necessary in order to effectively and atraumatically remove the tooth.
Ridge Augmentation
Ridge augmentation can fill in this defect recapturing the natural contour of the gums and jaw. A new tooth can then be created that is natural looking, easy to clean and beautiful.

Orthodontics
A dental extraction (also referred to as tooth extraction, exodontia, exodontics, or informally, tooth pulling) is the removal of teeth from the dental alveolus (socket) in the alveolar bone. Extractions are performed for a wide variety of reasons, but most commonly to remove teeth which have become unrestorable through tooth decay, periodontal disease or dental trauma, especially when they are associated with toothache. Sometimes wisdom teeth are impacted(stuck and unable to grow normally into the mouth) and may cause recurrent infections of the gum (pericoronitis). In orthodontics if the teeth are crowded, sound teeth may be extracted (often bicuspids) to create space so the rest of the teeth can be straightened.
