We then take x-rays to help in further identifying the problem. We will then perform a comprehensive examination and create a treatment plan that is right for you. We provide immediate emergency treatment to eliminate pain and discomfort before you leave the office. If you currently have an active infection at the time of your appointment, we will recommend that you take antibiotics before any type of work is done. This ensures that the infection has cleared fully before we work on either the tooth or area of the mouth.

Dental Examination

X-rays
Dental x-rays are often necessary to spot problems that would go unnoticed during a typical examination. X-rays are safe and beneficial to your overall oral health. We work diligently to ensure that the x-ray process is as comfortable and quick as possible. Both adults and children can benefit from having these x-rays taken.
Oral Cancer Screening
The appointment starts with a cleaning that is performed by our registered hygienist. The hygienist will clean tartar and stains from the teeth. The teeth are then polished and flossed before the gums are checked for signs of gingivitis or gum disease. Once the cleaning is finished, we will perform the examination. This exam looks for areas of decay, loose or broken restorations and other problems concerning your dental health. An oral cancer screening is performed at the appointment to check for unusual spots or lesions. You’ll then be scheduled to come in for your next biannual visit in another six months.

Teeth Cleaning
You might assume that if you’re not experiencing any problems and if you’re brushing your teeth at home, there is no reason for an exam and cleaning. However, coming in for an exam and cleaning will help to keep your smile healthy and bright. Cleanings remove tartar buildup from the teeth that can still accumulate even with proper brushing and flossing at home. Tartar can contribute to tooth decay as well as gum disease, so coming in for a cleaning is crucial to your oral health.
Fluoride Treatment
Fluoride treatments are done quickly and easily in our office. In fact, most treatments are done in as little as a few seconds and can be completed in conjunction with other procedures. We often recommend fluoride treatments to our pediatric patients. However, there is no age limit on who can benefit from having these treatments done.
Dental Sealants
Sealants are typically used to protect the back teeth from tooth decay. Nearly 80 percent of all cavities form on the chewing surfaces of the back teeth. This is due to the fact that bacteria, plaque and tartar can accumulate in the deep fissures and grooves within these areas. In order to fill these grooves, clear sealants can be applied and can last for one to three years.

Fillings
Resin Composite
A dental filling is a restoration that is used to replace an area of decay in a tooth. Fillings are typically made using composite resin material, which is tooth-colored in nature. Fillings help to stop the spread of decay as well as fill the small hole that was made to remove the cavity. Fillings can easily last for many years before they’ll need to be replaced with new material.
Veneers
Porcelain veneers are specifically designed to cover the front teeth. This can be done as a way to enhance and perfect your smile as well as cover up any imperfections and flaws that you might have. Veneers are thin and delicate, yet incredibly long-lasting and resilient. Most patients have their veneers for more than 10 years without having to worry about them falling off or needing replacement.
Crowns
Inlays and onlays can be placed within or on top of your tooth to restore it to its original size and shape. Unlike fillings, inlays and onlays are custom-made to fit the tooth perfectly while still looking completely natural. These restorations are a mixture between a filling and a dental crown. They are often needed when a filling isn’t enough and a full dental crown isn’t necessary.
Bridges
Dental bridges can help to replace a tooth within the mouth that is missing. The most common fixed bridge has three parts to it. The outermost parts of the bridge are attached to your surrounding teeth. The middle part of the bridge is a false tooth that replaces the tooth that you’re currently missing. Bridges can easily last for decades without showing signs of wear or damage.
Dental Bonding
Dental bonding is often best for otherwise healthy adult teeth that have minor flaws and imperfections. These flaws may include chips and cracks, areas of discoloration or staining as well as gaps and spaces between the teeth themselves. Bonding typically requires little to no anesthetic, so it’s a safe option for patients wanting a complete change to their smile. Your bonding is durable and can be maintained as you would any of your natural teeth.

Root Canal Treatment
Root canals are procedures that involve removing the inner pulp of an infected tooth. If a tooth has become severely decayed or has a serious crack or break in it, we may recommend having a root canal performed. This procedure is easily and quickly done in our office. Root canals help to retain the structural integrity of a tooth while eliminating pain and discomfort.

Deep Cleaning
Periodontal scaling and root planings are ideal for patients who have gum disease. If you have gum disease, the soft tissues around the teeth separate and cause cratering and pocketing to form. Because it’s impossible to clean these pockets on your own, we suggest having a scaling and root planing done. This deep cleaning involves clearing out the gingival pocketing that has formed around the teeth, preventing further progression of the disease.

Dentures
A denture or partial is a type of prosthetic appliance that is designed to replace missing teeth within the mouth. Full dentures are placed inside the mouth and suction onto the upper palate or lower jaw. Partial dentures are smaller in size, and they clip onto surrounding teeth to replace only the few teeth that you’re missing. Dentures are durable, realistic-looking and can last for up to seven or eight years depending on the amount of wear that they receive.
Overdentures
Implants are a wonderful way to replace one or more missing teeth within the mouth. Implants are made of titanium and are inserted deep into the jawbone. Over the course of a few months, the implant’s post will begin to bond with the surrounding bone. Once this occurs, the implant is a permanent part of your smile and can act as an anchor for crowns, bridges and complete overdentures.

Tooth Extractions
Extracting a tooth involves completely removing it from the mouth. This is typically done if there is no other way to save a tooth. In other cases, extractions are needed to remove teeth that could pose a threat to your oral health. With any and every extraction, we perform it easily and comfortably in our office on patients of all ages.
Bone Grafting
Your implant will only heal properly if it has enough bone structure where it has been placed. Because implants undergo a process known as osseointegration, which means that they fuse with the bone, you’ll need healthy bone structure for them to heal. If you’re missing bone in the area where the implant will be placed, we will recommend that you have a bone grafting done. The bone graft is a simple procedure that involves placing bone in an area where it is currently missing.

Invisalign Orthodontics
Invisalign utilizes a system of clear aligners that help to straighten crooked and crowded teeth. Invisalign is ideal for patients of all ages and is a more invisible orthodontic treatment option. Invisalign has to be worn for 22 hours each day and should be removed when eating, brushing and flossing. Invisalign can help to improve your confidence in your smile as well as its overall health.
Braces
The reason Invisalign is needed is because you have crowded, crooked or unevenly spaced teeth. Rather than go with an option that involves metal brackets and wiring, Invisalign used clear BPA-free aligners to straighten your smile.
