I will make this as unbiased as possible... as others have mentioned in their comments, it's true, you do not have control of the temperature in your apartment, this really sucks since you can expect for it to be 80 degrees at all times unless you open your windows. Not to mention that you can't leave your windows open overnight due to a possible break-in. I have had my storage locker broken into downstairs in the dark basement where no one likes to go down (even to wash), because there's only one washer and one dryer for like 6 apartments in one unit (this is stupid). And good luck finding a parking spot the majority of the time! Unless you pay like $20 extra a month for carport! The water pipes make all kinds of loud noises when you turn them on and they keep making loud whistling noises until you turn them off. All of the outlets throughout the apartment are so loose that no matter what you plug in, it won't stay plugged. They have a really bad rodent problem for which you have to sign up to get an exterminator come to spray your apartment, even like that the problem doesn't get resolved. You usually see roaches even in the bathrooms (no food there, I guess if they can't find any food out in the kitchen they look elsewhere). They also don't dump the trash often enough, the trash containers keep overflowing so the tenants are often forced to leave their trash bags on the floor next to the trash containers. The ONE positive thing that I could say about this place is that's cheap, so if you have patience for lots of B.S. and can stand to loose a few pounds due to the outrageous heat in the apartments, this is for you! By the way, yes it true, the office staff (primarily the Office Manager that smells like an ash tray) is really rude. I usually NEVER complain, the only times I complained was when stuff was not getting fixed for a while and I had to go to the office personally to follow up on the status of my work order. Turns out someone keeps dropping the ball and they won't own up to it. Unfortunately I'm still locked into my lease but I am currently looking around for a better place to move, even if it cost more than what I'm paying now. Oh... one last comment which may be important to some: They accept Section 8, so yes, that's why these apartments are so ghetto, you got people moving from the projects somewhere to Overland Park. I was told by a Police Officer that there are constant problems at these apartments, had I known I would have never moved in. Bottom line: Is it cheap? Yes. Is it worth it? No (especially not if you have kids).
