Once Upon A Child

I love shopping at this store for my kids. They usually have a good selection of stuff and I like that they usually extend their sales. I went to their $1 sale recently & was able to get my daughter a week's worth of clothes that looked brand new. I've also sold at this location. Some days they'll purchase from you, but other days you might get all of your stuff back. I think it depends on what they already have in the store. Overall it's been a positive experience every time.

Today was my first time bringing in items to sell. I visited this store on Town Center in Hunters Creek about 3 months ago with my husband looking for something to get my granddaughter, we left with a toy only. The clothing was so worn, stained and high priced. So when it was time to sell some of my granddaughters clothing, I new they would buy them because of the condition they where in, clean almost new, no stains and neatly packed in a box. To my surprise out of a large box they only took 3 pairs of shoes and about 6 pieces of clothing. I was told that the rest was worn out. I told them I was insulted and that the clothing I took in was in better condition than the clothing they had in there store, and took my box of clothing by the way they just threw back in the box and left. I will never return again. I do not recommend buying or selling any items at / to this store at all. Not only was what they said to me about my clothing false it was said out loud for all the other shoppers to hear. How humiliating. No class at all. Not a place I would recommend to anyone.

This was my first time ever going to this store.I brought in a huge bag full of little girls clothes to sale and figured I would look around while I waited the hour it took to sort through my items.I was not impressed with the selection of clothes being sold. A little over priced for non name brand items. A lot of the items were very faded or had piling on them and snags on basketball jerseys.I would say that at least half of the items were at a level of wear that I would not have dressed my kids in. They looked like very worn play clothes. The only thing I bought was a t shirt my son wanted for $3.50. Wasn't worth the price. Then I was shocked when I returned to see what they were offering me for the clothes that I brought in. Out of about 75 items ,they only offered to buy about 10. Claimed that the items they rejected were probably to worn. I have high standards and only brought in items that I knew I would still dress my kids in if they still fit. Some items were new without tags. Gymboree and Gap items in near perfect condition were rejected. Nothing had stains or rips or holes. I even pointed out an identical pair of shorts that I brought in were being sold on their rack for $4.50. Mine were in much better condition. I am stumped. Maybe I caught them on a bad day and they just really didn't take the time to look through my items.
