A Beeman Education Lasts A Lifetime

General Info
Established in 1955, Beeman Park Preparatory School's approach is to encourage children to take charge of their learning experience - teaching them to learn and teach. In order to reach their highest possible potential, children must develop a healthy self-image, wholesome attitudes and values, independence, self-reliance, and desirable social skills and habits. Our dedicated staff embraces children with loving support as they form impressions of themselves and the world around them.

Services/Products
The Beeman Park approach to teaching is based on brain compatible methods and Montessori principles. These are the most important years in our children's education as it establishes the foundation of their learning career building the vocabulary and concepts necessary for higher education. As Mrs. Jeanne Smith likes to say "We are making the stock for the soup." We are not simply teaching them math and science and language arts - we are teaching them a thinking process. Due to our impressively low student-to-teacher ratio we don't just give lectures, assign homework, take tests and move on (because we have to). We can and do develop a lesson until our students "get it". We don't move on to the next lesson and leave our children behind. We make sure that they are progressing and absorbing the curriculum. Learning is like building a ladder. As teachers and parents if we don't work with our children to construct this ladder the right way, it will get rickety and our children will not be able to go up that ladder with confidence or reach their highest potential. Our dedicated staff embraces children with loving support as they form impressions of themselves and the world around them... impressions that last a lifetime.

I like everything they do. I am basing this on public school, when he was there they weren't even learning how to read and he has been at Beeman Park less than a year and now he is learning to read already. He has learned more here than in public school.

My child has been attending Beeman Park Prep for roughly 2.5 years. I have found that the staff does a very well job at communicating with myself on a regular basis in regards to the development of my child. They also execute a very clean and organized environment

The teachers at Beeman Park Elementary School are really great. Soon after my daughter was enrolled I could really tell they cared about her and how she was doing. I do enjoy the after school child care they provide as well.

Overall

Horrible school. They do work whenever they feel like it. They will skip weeks without teaching subjects, and didn't even have more then 1 lesson on history. They are very harsh on certain children with their criticism and "jokes". They actually asked permission to hit my child, I told them I wouldn't. They spent the rest of the year threatening and telling my child they wanted to hit him. Children around my child were getting hit with rulers as punishment. They actually put my child behind in school because they don't constantly teach and did not start him where my child was, but back from kindergarten level, now my child is behind and I must catch my child up. My child also has a lower self esteem and a hate for school. They did NOTHING about my child's bully and even bullied my child themselves. This school is ridiculous and pathetic. I hope no one else makes the mistake I did. This is only a small portion of what happened while my child attended, and is in no way an over the top review. I am writing this so that no other parent goes through what my child did.

We have had a really good experience. My daughter went here from pre-k until 2nd grade and she was happy. I really liked the one-on-one attention and I definitely believe that they provide a nurturing learning environment, but what I really like most overall is the personal attention that they provide for each and every child. I really like how they watch the development of your child.
