I am a local and have to respond to the other review. It's not that the food is bad, it's just that is average. We have eaten breakfest, lunch, and dinner there at least 5-8 times in the last four years (trying to give the benefit of the doubt.) with little if no change in the menu or flavor. I have tried all the steaks on the menu just to see if one would stand out from the other fat ladden ones to no avail. The specials are always the same, with nothing special about them. When you pay $6.95 for fried mushrooms, you expect to get more than seven (7) little shrooms. The only thing good about the food is the salads, which are very good. The house salad that comes with the meals is the best I have had anywhere. It's to bad that thats all there is good to say about this resturant.

Provided by SuperpagesIf you want a good restaurant at a good value with good service-- STAY AWAY fromt the Home Port. Food was nasty.. wouldn't serve it to my dog. Expensive and the service was awful. Horrible place to eat.

We are new to Ocean Shores but have quickly found The Home Port to be one of our favorites for any meal.
During the off season, they have a great breakfast special, and the pancakes are very tasty. Luncheon sandwiches are excellent, and dinner provides melt in your mouth steak, and prime rib. We are not big fish eaters, but we understand it is fresh and tasty. The service is quick and professional. This place is packed on the weekends, so you need a reservation unless you like waiting. (but if you have to wait, check out the cute gift shop adjacent). As of yet, we have not been in the lounge. This restaurant is definitely worth a visit. It is warm and cozy too!

Provided by SuperpagesWe were looking for something that is truly local, a place with good seafood, we found The Home Port Restaurant & Lounge. Before we were seated I looked what the Manu is offering, prices are too high but it looked promising. As we waited for our table near the door, one couple left the restaurant very upset, very unhappy, this was alarming but I didnt pay attention because our table was ready at that moment. After ordering couple of appetizers and couple bowls of clam chowder soup we decide to order one more dish. Appetizers are price, they start at $12.99, and soup is $4.99, but they are nothing special. The appetizers and soup are low grade, made cheap and with lots of fat. I decide to order one more dish: Grilled Oysters with Baked Potato and salad, for $1
