General Info
Edward Hopper House Museum & Study Center is the historic family home in which America’s most renowned artist was born and spent the first 26 years of his life. Located only 25 miles from New York’s mid-town Manhattan in one of the most charming Hudson River villages in the metropolitan area, the museum features early Hopper works and his first home/studio, and it also offers the opportunity for visitors to experience the surrounding environment that inspired him and imbued later works with his choices of light, color and subject matter. Truly a unique experience, its mission extends to supporting the arts in general, including rotating exhibitions by well-known artists inspired by Hopper's example, and a summer jazz concert series featuring top musicians, many known far beyond Nyack. The ground floor is ADA accessible, via a ramp leading from the rear of the house to the front porch then inside. There is also an ADA accessible restroom. The second floor is not accessible.Edward Hopper House Museum & Study Center is the historic family home in which America’s most renowned artist was born and spent the first 26 years of his life.
