Overall

I have moved out of the Bluffs Apartments by Rimsi Corp after living there for 7 years. They would not do a final inspection with me and said it would be done later and I would get word within 20 days. They sent me a bill for $779.29 for things that were not true or my fault and also kept my security deposit. On top of everything, they sent this to collections and are reporting it to the credit bureau. We cleaned that place from top to bottom before moving out. I also have taken pictures of the whole apartment right before leaving. Here is a list of what Rimsi Corp is trying to charge me for.



(1) $125.00 Charge for cleaning. We cleaned and scrubed that apartment from top to bottom.

(2) $ 8.25 Patio door gouged 2 holes. Those holes were made by contractors who were installing new balconies.

(3) $ 25.00 Removal of chalk on 3 sides of brick patio. That chalk was was not done by me or my family, but by vandals. I have small children who rarely went outside because of the Bee problem and the Dog Mess on the grass.

(4) $ 26.00 Replace 4 burnt up drip pans. This stove was very old and those drip pans were rusted and worn.

(5) $ 55.00 Patio door screen hole. I think this hole was made when maintenance was trying to repair the track on this screen but can't prove it.

(6) $ 6.25 Remove TV cable wires. Those wires were there when we moved in.

(7) $ 25.00 Replaced bottom of bath vanity in master bath plus labor. That bottom was damaged from the loose faucet that I was complaining about for a long time. The first time maintenance checked the faucet, they said it was normal.

(8) $ 25.99 Broken tile left of master toilet. That tile floor was very old and the tile pieces were coming up because of worn glue for a long time.

(9) $ 8.25 Master tub nicks and hall tub. Those tubs are old and the nicks were there when we move in 7 years ago.

(10)$ 46.24 Replace vertical blinds plus labor. I agree with the blinds.

(11)$320.00 Carpet destroyed. There was a major water leak in the hallway that went on for some time that came from upstairs. Maintenance thought it was coming from the AC unit. I had to clean up those soaked carpets myself. We just had a major inspection and no one said anything about the carpets then. We did a good carpet cleaning ever after the inspection. Besides we lived there for 7 years and that carpet was only rated for 3-5 years.

(12)$ 73.50 Broken outlets. These outlets were not broken. They were worn out since we moved there 7 years ago. The outlets are the responsibility of the landlord in which some were replaced, but not all. I found out that all of the outlets in the building were replaced after we moved out because they were old.

(13)$ 34.81 Unreported water waste-Hall tub faucet drip. I have been reporting this drip for a long time. They have been out many times to try and patch it up, but the drip kept coming back.



Total charges were $779.29. I complained to Rimsi about this and they did remove some of the charges which took the total to $714.00. This place was outdated when we moved in and should not have to be charged for normal wear and tear.
