The New York City Police Department is a law enforcement agency that provides a range of public protection services. Its physical training and tactics department trains new recruits for police work and other dangers that they may encounter. The department s new immigrant outreach unit makes presentations on the police department policies, programs and services that affect new immigrant communities. Its law enforcement exploring is a career-oriented, community service program that is designed to educate young men and women between the ages of 14 to 20 about law enforcement. The department s internal affairs bureau investigates allegations of corruption and serious misconduct against members of the New York City Police Department. It has several offices in New York City.
