X-rays

Dental Sealants

Space Maintainers
These removable partial dentures have replacement denture teeth that are attached to a gum-colored base and rest on the adjacent teeth by utilizing either metal clasps or a flexible, metal-free alternative. These appliances are very useful as an interim prosthesis while waiting for an implant to be placed and heal. Partial dentures prevent teeth from shifting, acting as a space maintainer, and enable better speech, chewing, and esthetics.

Fillings
Teeth that undergo a root canal may be discolored prior to the treatment, which can be fixed through internal bleaching. Dental Bonding
Teeth that are chipped, broken, or have noticeable gaps between them can be treated with tooth bonding. The same material that is used for fillings, with colors emulating the natural shades of teeth, can also be used for cosmetic bonding purposes.
Restorative Dentistry
Similar to cosmetic medicine, a smile makeover (also called “smile design”) often needs to address more than one of the patient’s concerns with multiple dental procedures, including cosmetic and restorative dentistry techniques, in order to provide the best aesthetic result.

Root Canal Treatment
When tooth decay has progressed to the point where the bacteria reaches the root canal, soft tissues, nerves, and the pulp within the tooth’s central chambers, it cannot be saved and must be extracted.
Apicoectomy
An apicoectomy - this microsurgical procedure involves the removal of the root and tissue of the tooth. We would perform an apicoectomy if the nonsurgical treatment option fails.

Gingivectomy and Gingivoplasty
Dr. Lazare conducts laser gum recontouring with advanced diode laser technology, which gently sculpts the gum line to remove excess gum tissue and better reveal the teeth. The doctor performs the gummy smile correction in a single outpatient visit. Local anesthesia is typically used to keep the patient comfortable during the procedure. The intense diode laser beam is adjustable and performs a gingivectomy procedure during a gummy smile correction; it can also whiten the teeth or control bacteria and potential infection during periodontal procedures.
Periodontal Surgery
Patients may be asked to follow up with at-home care consisting of a specific regimen. Dr. Lazare may suggest the use of an electric toothbrush, a special fluoride toothpaste like Prevident, and Perioguard mouthwash. By undergoing the minimally invasive STM treatment and practicing good oral hygiene, patients can avoid tooth extraction and the placement of dental implants or other periodontal surgery. Patients may also be required to schedule more frequent visits with their general dentist for cleanings.
Deep Cleaning
Dr. Lazare may recommend dental sealants to protect the teeth from decay. When gum disease is determined, the doctor recommends additional cleanings and treatments. Ultrasonic scalers provide deep cleaning above and below the gum line.

Dentures
If someone were to lose some or all of their teeth due to gum disease, tooth decay, or injury, a denture would enable that individual to maintain their speech and ability to chew properly. Additionally, dentures can provide support for the lips and cheeks, preventing the face from sagging and appearing older than they really are.
Overdentures
These types of dentures are a great alternative to help eliminate some of the problems that many denture-wearers face, including loose dentures, the inability to chew certain foods, and the feeling of being self-conscious while wearing dentures. Overdentures are dentures that go over and attach to either natural prepared teeth or implants to form an anchor and add a feeling of security when speaking and eating. Keeping some natural teeth or placing dental implants into the bone beneath the denture helps to maintain the bone level. This prevents the loss of bone normally seen in the jaw after teeth are removed. The teeth involved usually have had root canal therapy, and are cut down to the gum line, with an attachment placed on top that fits into the overdenture. These teeth and implants are the male snap that fits into the female snap of the overdenture. Oftentimes, the implants are splinted together into a bar attachment, which is fitted to the inside of the overdenture in such a way that it takes a little effort to snap it out in order to clean it.

Dental implants have become the gold standard in dental medicine for replacing missing teeth, as they spare the surrounding structures while also preserving the levels of bone in the jaw. The artificial teeth function as normal teeth and help strengthen the dentition as a whole. Implants offer a more permanent tooth replacement solution that helps patients maintain their quality of life.

Gum Surgery
Laser Gum Reshaping - Gum contouring can be used for both preventative and cosmetic procedures. Laser gum reshaping can adjust gum tissue surrounding the teeth, whether it is a “gummy smile” or uneven gums. In terms of periodontal cases, laser gum surgery can help with restoring a receding gum line.
Maxillofacial Surgery
According to an article in the 2015 National Journal of Maxillofacial Surgery, the immediate placement of a single tooth following extraction is best suited for teeth lost due to trauma, fracture, root canal failure, and root absorption caused by residual baby teeth. Some dental professionals believe that bone growth is especially apt to occur following tooth removal. The implant may require between two and six months for the addition of a crown due to the initial lack of contact between the bone and implant.
Tooth Extractions
Removing the tooth is important because it could damage the underlying bone and gum tissue if left in place. Dr. Lazare only recommends tooth extraction when necessary, and if the benefits outweigh the risk of complications.
Bone Grafting
Subperiosteal implant surgery places the implant just above the gumâ€™s jaw bone and does not require bone grafting. Bone healing requires time, and the process can take three to six months to heal. Additional time is needed for the implant to fuse with the bone and for the gum to heal.

Orthodontics
A: Getting a set of Invisalign correctors can run anywhere from $3,000 to $8.000. It should be noted that clear aligners count for just 15% of the orthodontics market and that the brand is extremely strong and trusted in the world of alignment correction. While other companies like ClearCorrect are getting into the market offering lower-priced options, these organizations are cutting costs via telehealth connections and remote appointments. Expectations are that these lower-cost options will not cut into the market currently held by Invisalign, but will increase the number of people who can access the services and the tools. Invisalign is extremely popular among parents of teenagers and the teenagers themselves, and many of these patients arenâ€™t going to be comfortable with remote dental care and the inherent risk of missing out on in-person, hands-on treatment.

Braces
A: Braces today tend to be less uncomfortable and less visible than they used to be, but they still take some getting used to. Food can get caught in the wires, flossing and brushing can take more time, and after the monthly adjustments sometimes the teeth are a little sore. Tooth discomfort can be controlled by taking an analgesic, such as ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin and others) or aspirin if necessary. The use of lighter and more flexible wires has greatly lessened the amount of soreness or discomfort during treatment. Because treatment has become more socially acceptable, social embarrassment may be less of a concern.
