Ban Custom Tailor

Have been coming to Bans Tailor for 22 years. Great service,very creative, friendly atmosphere. The best Tailor in NY !!

​BUYER BEWARE! Ban the tailor is a totally dishonest man & arrogant in his belief that his customers are stupid! He was to enlarge the waistband of a new pin-striped skirt, agreeing to use the fabric inside the waistband and then replacing it with a solid fabric. When I picked up the skirt I noticed that the waistband inside was untouched but that the fabric used to enlarge it was identical. Asked where he got the fabric, he replied "I had it". Puzzled, I asked again and got the same answer. Further, he charged me sales tax & when I protested, he insisted it was legal. When I got home I turned the skirt inside out to discover he had cut into the sides of an inverted pleat (leaving it hanging free of the waistband) leaving the fabric raw & likely to unravel. I checked & learned alterations are not taxed. I returned to the shop confronted him & all he said was "I'm sorry". When I said I would notify the NYC tax bureau he returned the tax. He ruined my skirt and cheats the city!!

Nice tailoring shop in upper east side. Got recommendation from my neighbor and they've done so well on my shirt and pants. I do recommend this place!

I been going to Ban's Custom Tailor for all my suits and they are fantastic! Very friendly and very professional. I would recommend Ban's to all NYC people who needs some tailoring job.

Best Tailor in Manhattan, I don't have a basis for comparison, having never been to any other tailors in this places. But I don't need to. Ban has always been nothing but friendly, providing high quality service to me ever since I bought my first suit when I was in high school. He works quickly, and does a very good job. He knows what he is doing (the most important thing) and does it with a smile on his face. P.S. He also gives great fashion advice in case you need it.

I've never had to take anything to a tailor other than to get off the rack suits fitted.  I found some awesome jeans for supercheap because the zipper was broken. With a little research I discovered this place  

Ban couldn't have been more friendly or efficient in dealing with me. I showed him the broken zipper, he mulled over it for a second and let me know it was a little more difficult than normal jeans because there were three different colors of stitching he would have to use to completely replace the zipper assembly. come back in 2 weeks. Easy enough, and so I did and I have fully functioning, I will be going to Ban for any future alterations or repairs for sure.

indeed good, I also don't know why they reviewed badly like that, i'm very satisfied with their service and results. not only first visit,,,just 3 times was good! so i can give good reviews confidently
