Nifty Car Rental

Nifty came to the rescue when I needed a rental car for the Thanksgiving holiday and no other agencies had availability. The car itself was clean inside/out and drove well. One thing customers should be aware of is that there is a "local driver" policy whereby local folks like myself (anyone without a flight itinerary) are limited to 150 miles per day, so plan your trips accordingly. My agent Donna was very helpful and pleasant to work with.

The staff at Nifty was super helpful! Within 15 minutes of being there i had the paperwork completed and was on the road! Super nice people and again very helpful. Not to mention they shuttle you to and from your location before and after your rental.

Nifty Car Rental was recommended by my hotel and I was delighted by the experience. Donna and Rachel are two of the most intelligent, hard working and efficient representatives of any company I have ever encountered. Spectacular customer service and no-nonsense all the way. Donna and I had a great, informed conversation about the local plantation tours and my wife and I were both impressed watching Rachel simultaneously rent a car to another couple, make arrangements for our car return, field a phone call about another rental, crunch numbers on a calculator, and supervise the other staff members. If these young women don't own this business, they absolutely could and should. The car was fine for my purposes and the rate was fair. Plus Donna arranged for me to be picked up from my hotel, and Rachel arranged for myself and my wife to be dropped off at one of the local sites we wanted to visit after we returned the car. No complaints at all. Thanks so much!

I can't say enough nice things about the people working at Nifty. They were friendly, helpful, and patient in setting me up with my car. I had a bit of trouble getting access to my reservation information and they took the time to figure it out with me, with no rush or stress. They also called to check in the morning of the reservation and the morning I was dropping the car off, just to make sure we were all on the same page and that I had the info I needed. I booked this car through Priceline at a low rate and was wary as a result - discount car rentals are often a minefield of fees and shady loopholes. But this one exceeded all my expectations! Clear, upfront policies and super-helpful staff. In case you are booking via a travel site, you might not get access to all of their policies in advance. So a few things to note: 1. If you book through ACE Rent-A-Car, this is the same business. 2. If you are local, there's a 150 miles/day limit ($.25/mile above that). In order to get unlimited miles, you'll need to show a flight itinerary into and out of MSY. 3. Bring your ID, credit card, and insurance card/policy number with you. 4. They're walking distance from the CBD and the Superdome, but the street doesn't have easy pedestrian access (no sidewalks, near highway on-ramp). However, it looks like they have shuttle service if you need it.

I hesitated to use these guys a no brand name company. The pick up and drop off was a nice touch - unfortunately there was a lot of construction going on with roads being block our pick up was late. Not only did the compensate us with extra time they said they would work with us on the mileage. We had to go to Lafayette for the day which ate up the 150 miles they give you per day. The cars are not 'new' our cars had a few dings on it. What car doesn't have a few dings on it after being parked in the French Quarter with a bunch of crazy fun loving people bang up against it. I was worried that we might add to the cars collection of dings parking it on Frenchmen street. The driver who picked us up told us where to park that was safe. The big sell was to get a car for the day without going to the airport it was just too much of a hassle. It was a very positive experience for us. Everyone was very friendly -

Nifty Car rental came to our rescue! After prepaying for a car from Budget rental car, we were informed 30 minutes before our reserved pick up time that they did not have a car for us or any car that could fit 5 people until later in the day. We were beyond frustrated since we had planned to get an early start to visit a plantation. Our concierge was able to secure a car from Nifty. A very friendly woman named Donna picked us up at our hotel. She was professional, kind and knowledgeable about the area. It was a short drive to Nifty where we picked up the SUV. Rachel handled the paperwork- she was also very friendly and efficient. I agree with another reviewer that the cars are ok, not top notch. But perfectly fine for our needs. The staff was really great. Highly recommend renting a car from them if you are staying in downtown New Orleans.

The lady and man on saturday were very polite and helpful.

I liked their pick-up and drop-off service. Staying in the French Quarter, we've opted out of renting a vehicle for our 5-day trip. Nifty Car Rental was convenient, people were nice and courteous.

My experience with this location was very good. Rachel assisted me with all of my concerns and issues.

We needed to rent a car to go the LSU football game. They picked us up at the hotel and took us to their location. The car was a newer Camry and was clean and drove well. The price was reasonable and fair too. But what made this experience great were the people. The drivers who picked us up and then back to our hotel when we turned in the car were very friendly. The staff at the location were also very nice and efficient with their work. However, the managing partner, David, was great. He spent time talking to us and made sure we knew how to get to the game. He gave us great tips and spent time with us even though he was busy with other customers. This was a great experience and I highly recommend this place.

There was five of us, we were picked up at the hotel. The driver was on time, polite and very helpful, answering our questions about New Orleans. Upon arrival Dawn was welcoming and very friendly. We were upgraded to a eight passage Blue Chevrolet Traverse van, the car was very clean and in excellent condition. We toured over 300 miles of Louisiana with no problems. This van got good gas mileage. Our two day rental was $160 this included $25 airport drop off. We could afford the gas at Louisiana prices compared to California. We paid $90 for airport pick up on arrival. (Five women with luggage).

I found the rental policies were in accord with other car rental companies.

Lance a Nifty employee drove us to the airport unloaded our luggage. 15 bags with a smile. This was his first day on the job, very friendly and job well done. Keep up the good work.

I'm a California License Commercial Driver I know a good vehicle when I drive one. Also great service when I receive it.

We highly recommend Nifty car rental when you are in New Orleans.
On our trip to new orleans our car broke down. There was a big festival happening and this happened around 4:30pm. We found an auto repair business who were willing to squeeze us in and we called all around for affordable car rentals. We found Nifty Car Rental to be half the price of the bigger outfits so we chose Nifty and was impressed with their prices,service and hospitality. Dawn gave us an even better deal once we got there and we are ever so thankful.

Needed a car last minute during Jazz Fest for a couple of days and they came through in the klutch! Very friendly staff and loved that they picked us up and dropped us off where we needed to go

These guys were fantastic. I had a very iffy experience with hertz, and they sent me here. I could not have been happier. The first shuttle driver was so kind. The woman at the desk and the owner (I think), were extremely accommodating. After we dropped the car off, our driver back to our hotel Garret, I think, was a wonderful human being,we could have talked to him all day. Thanks for making our experience great.

Love these guys. Super friendly. We rented the Mercedes 550 and it was super fun to drive. We had a horrible experience with Budget Rental car in NOLA which led us to Nifty. Also they will pick you up and take you back to your hotel. Okay had to add a little more. On our ride back to the hotel David took us the long way back so he could show us a few of his favorite restaurants and bars. He told us some great stories of his dealings over the years in NOLA. Was actually the best tour we have been on yet. I kind of want to go rent a car from these guys again just for the experience.

During the festival nobody had any rental cars. Nifty came through for us and not only picked us up at our hotel but also dropped us off there afterwards. Curtis was very informational and was a pleasure to ride with. We would definitely go back to Nifty next trip to NOLA!!!!!!!

After my husband was involved in a serious car accident that totaled his vehicle we were sent to Nifty Car Rental on the advice of s close friend. The staff, especially Rachel were super friendly and very helpful. They listened to our needs and provided us with a Toyota Camry that we were able to keep for two weeks. On returning the vehicle, again we dealt with Rachel and she was just as accommodating and friendly as she was upon renting the vehicle. I also happened to interact with the business owner David, who offered me a ride to my destination and personally drove me. I will definitely be a lifetime customer and highly recommend Nifty for all of your car rental needs. Many thanks to Rachel for all of the help and personal service!
