The company focuses on gastrointestinal endoscopy, ophthalmology, orthopedics and otolaryngology. Its capabilities include colonoscopy, retinal laser surgery, knee arthroscopy and tonsillectomy. AmSurg s centers help to improve physicians productivity and provide greater scheduling flexibility. The company s ambulatory surgery centers perform between 3,000 to 6,000 outpatient procedures per year. AmSurg was established in 1992 and is headquartered in Nashville, Tenn. It maintains regional offices in Coral Gables and Tampa, Fla., Tempe, Ariz., and King of Prussia, Pa. The company has a majority interest in nearly 150 ASCs.
