El Tapatio

I have eaten at this restaurant twice, but will never eat there again! On my first visit, we dined in, and the food was fairly tasty, but the service was cold and unfriendly. Today, I decided to give them another try and pick up a lunch to go. I ordered what I thought would be a yummy meal (and, again, the service was very unwelcoming, but - since my order was to go - I figured that I could put up with it for 10 minutes...).



However, when I got home - which is 15 miles away from the restaurant - I discovered three or four VERY LARGE HAIRS sitting right on top of the burrito! I couldn't believe it! I called the restaurant and very politely explained the rather disturbing error, and asked if they could leave a credit voucher for a future burrito purchase (I didn't even ask them to reimburse the rest of my meal.).



The manager, however, refused to believe me, and insisted that I bring the food back to him so that he could see it for himself (which was silly anyway, since I could've added my own hairs to the food if I was actually trying to be dishonest about it!). I was certainly tempted to bring the food back to him - since I wasn't going to eat it anyway - but, again, the restaurant was 15 miles away from me, and I'd just walked in the door from work. I really didn't feel like getting back out again at that moment, simply because of their disgusting mistake!



I tried to explain to them that I'm a Christian, as well as a pastor, and that I would never lie to them just to save a few bucks on a meal. They refused my request, though, and I made it clear to them that neither my family nor I - nor any of my friends who heeded my advice about this - would ever be eating there again. This was just too disgusting of an experience - something that I simply can't forget.



Anyway, I figured this might be useful information for others to hear, too, just in case you're ever considering a visit. I hope that my writing this will keep you from having to experience the same thing that I did!

El Tapatio has the greatest Mexican food in Michigan! My family lives in Zeeland, MI and we will drive the hour to Muskegon at least twice a month for El Tapatio! There just isn't a Mexican restaurant that compares. The food is fantastic, the prices very reasonable, and the service is nothing short of the very best! The food is always HOT, and all of the sauces and flavors are authentic, and you can tell that the quality is most certainly home made.El Tapatio is a memorable experience that you'll want to repeat over and over again!!
