The Best Auto Repair Shop in Milwaukee Since 1974

General Info
In a big city like Milwaukee, finding an auto mechanic is easy, especially on the East Side and downtown. Finding an auto mechanic you can trust is harder. Any auto repair shop can offer you a full range of repairs; but sometimes you're getting repairs you don't need. Any auto repair shop can offer low prices; but sometimes you're getting low-quality repairs. Any auto repair shop can listen to your car's noises, and read some numbers off a computer; but sometimes they don't have the decades of experience that turn those sounds and numbers into a solid diagnosis. So when you want to get your car repaired the right way for the right price, the first step isn't taking it to the shop: it's finding the right shop.

Fazio Automotive Paint Job From Hell! BUYER BEWARE OF JIMMY FAZIO and MICHAEL BREITBACH!!!!!!

In hindsight, I never should have answered a Craigslist ad posted by the Fazio Automotive body man Michael Breitbach. He came out to my shop, and wrote a lowball contract to do bodywork and paint my 1962 Corvette on 06-13-2013. He promised to fix all the fiberglass cracks and repaint it to “look like glass” for $3,800, but wrote the contract for $3,500 so that he could keep the difference. That should have been a clue. First he wanted cash to do the work under the Fazio’s name. Another clue. Then he wanted more and more cash to do a back door job at the Fazio Automotive shop located at 2037 N. Farwell in Milwaukee, WI. He loaded my beautiful Corvette onto a flatbad on 06-15-2013 with a promise of having it done in 6-8 weeks. That would be the end of July to mid August to be finished. The first big lie!

After week after week of unanswered calls and emails, I visited the Fazio Automotive shop to find out that he started work on a new project instead. After many more promises and assurances of “next week” and “I will be painting the car this weekend”, I learned that I had been scammed by a mediocre bodyman that was in way over his head. After being 6-8 weeks past the deadline (16 weeks and counting), I contacted the manager who knew nothing about the back door job his bodyman brought in, or the deal that Breitbach made on a Fazio’s work order. Work restarted and paint was sprayed, only to find dust, dirt, drips, and hair in the paint! When confronted with the shoddy work, Breitbach threatened to “throw all the parts in the car and push it to the curb”. My 50+ thousand dollar car! He then has the gall to tell me he wants another $1500, but can’t account for any expenses. I refused to pay a conman price that was being inflated because of his inability to know how to write a bid (also known as a signed contract). The manager set a new deadline of 10-26-2013, but only for me to endure 6 more weeks of broken promises and blown deadlines. He even acknowledged that his shop is supposed to get written customer approval of price increases, which never happened. I then received a call from the “Shop Proprietor” Jimmy Fazio who told me over and over that he knew nothing about the Craigslist job that HIS bodyman had in HIS shop. Jimmy Fazio assured me repeatedly that he would make things right and that he would “take care of” me and that I would be very happy. More lies. His F-bomb laden phone call was something else! Week after week went by with more blown deadlines and calls were unanswered by Fazio, or were pawned off on the manager to respond to.

Finally, at week 27 of the Fazio Automotive Paint Job From Hell, I received a call that the car would be done in a day or two. Another lie. No call for another week (#28) only to learn that the amazing Breitbach “creased the fender” and needed to strip, fiberglass, repaint, and clearcoat again! When asked about the impending bill, and the $1200 I owe to end this misery, the manager tells me that Jimmy “The Weasel” Fazio now wants another $2400. I dispute the increase and am told that Fazio now threatens to take my car and put it into storage (at $25/day) until I pay what sounds like extortion to me. Jimmy “The Con Man” Fazio ends the call with an F-You to his customer. (Great recording of the call!) Upon final inspection, the car is messed up with loose headlights, scratches, missing hood prop, missing antenna parts, uninstalled trim pieces, and more. Thanks for returning an unfinished classic car to a customer in the dead of winter, in a 29 weeks fiasco, at a marked-up price not in the contract! James Fazio Sr. would be ashamed of what his son has done to this shop.

Here is my story with that garage.

4 months ago, I had problem in my car which is Audi A4. It was not big problem just shaking and little sound. I drove it to that garage because its near to my apartment.

First of all, they told me you have to pay $100 to check it. I said OK and I paid then they told me that there are codes on the check but if you like to do cleans "something like clean the engine" that will be fine and its cost about $600, I said OK do it. I was thinking I will be done after that clean. "$700"

After few days, they told me you have to  change to converter and the dealership price is high we can bring it from another place and cost about $1400. I said OK do it. After few days again, they told me the car is fine and smoothed. I was very happy to get it fix after spending thousands of dollars. When I drove it, it was not fine at all and the sound and shaking more . I drove it again to the garage and they told me the converter was not good on the car and we need to change them and you have to pay the different which was $600. I said OK but I need it very soon because I have a way to New York. "$2000"

In the day I have to go NY witch was in the end of May they told me you that you can not drive the car because there is a problem in the transmission and clutch. "The car was drivable and after spending about $2700 it is not" I said OK how much its cost they said that there is used one on IL and cast about $3200. I told them to fix it and i was waiting for a month. "$3200"

After paying about $6000, the car FAIL on the 1st Emission Test because of converter, secondary air, and EVAP control. I will not fix it because I paid the car price 2 times and if so I will not drop it to that garage.

When looking for an automotive shop when I moved to Milwaukee, I found Fazio's just a couple blocks down from my apartment. Fazio's is a great local company that is personable and always know who I am when I walk in. What I respect the most is that they tell me exactly what I need to do, when I need to do it and they give me honest answers. About six months after my first visit, I got a letter in the mail from Fazio's stating what was fixed and reminding me about the things that I had decided not to have fixed at that time. That's great service!

Scam Artists

This by far is the worst repair shop in the state. They will rip you off and treat you like a your business isn't worth a damn. When you don't want their services( most likely due to the over pricing) they will get mad and have a attitude when you come to pick your car up. The owner has no concept of how to treat customers and probably does the same to his employees. Many people who know of this place or know the owner steer clear. If you take your car/ truck to these very uneducated people be prepared to spend a ton of money, won't be fixed right or you probably didn't even need the repair. In most cases it will be all three.
