I purchased a Shar Pei Beagle Mix Puppy from American Puppy/Breeders Club of America May 23, 2015 after falling in love with him in the store. They told me he was from a responsible breeder in Ohio and fed me a whole story about their ethical breeding practices. While in the store I noticed his left eye looked a little extra pink but they assured me it was nothing. A week and a half later, 3 vet visits and some very expensive vet bills. He developed cherry eye, turned eye infection turned prolasped eyelid in a matter of days. On top of that he had begun to cough and gag on a regular basis. The owner gave me an ultimatum to return the dog but I had decide by the next day. I went back and forth and cried like hell trying to figure out the right choice knowing this could be the beginning of a lifetime of expenses should this continue as it had begun. I opted to return the puppy even though it broke my heart and spent and hour and a half in the store crying and trying to weigh my options. She assured me that the puppy would be fine and they would get it the care it needed and would go back to the nice breeders from which it came and be with a family. Upon this assurance I reluctantly left the store and 9:30pm that evening. I woke up the next morning realizing I had made a mistake and called to say I would pick the puppy up and I wanted to take it no matter what. Beth told me the dog was no longer there and had been sent back to the breeder. I was floored and heartbroken that he could be just gone and on his way to Ohio so quickly. I said surely you must be able to track him, he has a chip...he is with your breeder.. it should be easy.. and I'd like to give him a home. She refused any of this saying she didn't have any information. Now how is this possible if you are running a business? How can you not have any information. My mother called a little while later to see if she could help and she was told he was at the vet getting surgery on his eye. (The first of many conflicting stories) This would go on for the next few days. A friend had a contact at the Humane Society Corporate office and she was kind enough to research the breeder to help me locate the dog.. Come to find out he has come from a man name Abe J Miller who is a known PUPPY MILL breeder from Baltic, Ohio. dealing out of Quail Creek Kennels in Charm Ohio. After 3 days calling every vet office in the Ohio area I was able to find someone who knew this breeder. Turns out he is Amish and without a telephone. (convenient) and the store is the only one who can actually tell me where the little guy has gone to and they have become increasingly hostile to deal with and absolutely refuse to help me find him. I am crushed!!!!! BUYER BEWARE!!!

Never buy a puppy from the store. They lie and sell you a sick puppy that came from a horrifying breeder.

Got a dog that costs 3000 at first then walking away they gave it to me for 1000. I took it to the vet and the dog has 2 parasites and bronchitis. One of which is contagious to humans good thing we dont have kids in the house.

I love my Shiba Inu I got from here. Hook is about 2 years old now, and is truly an amazing dog! He was a little rough around the edges for the first 2 years, but after some serious training with them and being on and off the phone he’s turned out alright, I think. I’m very happy they were there for me and were able to help me with training. I think without them it would have been a huge mess! But now Hook’s fine and everyone is pretty impressed by him. Very thankful!

My friends and I had been discussing getting a dog, I live with 2 other people. We all wanted one but were unsure of what to get. My roommates parents actually had bough a dog a few months earlier and they said they went to American Puppy. The 3 of us walked in and you could tell we were in for a surprise. We decided to split the puppy 3 ways, since it would be all of ours and we each picked out a puppy to see which one would come home. My roommate Amanda’s choice had won. We wanted something easy going but not to laid back because we do walk at night. We ended up with a Walrus puppy, now if that isn’t the cutest name you’ve ever heard! We (as corny as it sounds) call him Walle, he does everything! He comes on night walks with us, he sleeps during the day, he’s frisky and playful, he’s just perfect. The 3 of us are very happy and the pups happy and healthy!

I purchased a beagle from here about a year ago and my family and I decided to purchase another one! I know call us crazy, but this time we wanted something a little different. Oh boy did we get it! We got Roxy who is the newest addition to our household. She’s a beagle French bulldog mix. So adorable! She gets along great with Reme (our beagle) and we’re very happy with our second purchase. They gave us some extra toys and were super friendly and they seemed a little more excited than my kids at times, but overall it was just as good as the first experience.

Naner is our new Maltese X Brussels mix and she is tough as nails! She has a great personality and gets along great with my other dogs. I was a little worried at first because she was so small, but she proved that size does not matter! I also have two Labs who she’s made bow down her. She’s everything I hoped for!

It was a Friday night, my wife had been talking about getting a dog for the family for awhile. With my two older children doing well in school, and our schedules (mine and my wife’s) opening up, I took a stop into American Puppy Club. The staff was nice, and they all seemed very knowledgeable. My wife had been saying she wanted either a German Shepherd or some other larger breed. Her biggest reservation with the Shepherd was the shedding. When I stopped in they had a few larger breeds and after talking to the girls for a little bit, they put me in with a Bullmastiff. He was dopy and big, very big. I immediately fell in love with his personality. I spent all in all about an hour or so there with the dog. I left and spent a couple days doing research on the breed. True to form what the girls had told me matched everything I read and I felt confident that this breed would suit our family very well. When I went back a few days later, I asked for the dog and some one was playing with him. I waited about 20 minutes, and the girls handed him over to me. We went through a load of paperwork, and after all was said and done I was leaving with a puppy. My wife was thrilled and excited. She was the first one to see the puppy and got to spend some bonding time with him. My kids who came home later that evening were equally as thrilled. I don’t think I could have made a better choice. Very happy.

I was recently at American Puppy Club and I found my boxer puppy. Thor has been home for a week and half now and we are well on our way to being housebroken. He listens very well. I stick to a schedule like the girls told me and so far so good. I’m excited to bring him back for training soon! Thanks American Puppy!

My Kids wanted to go into look at puppies, and I agreed (foolishly). We went in and my kids all picked out puppies, the girls were nice enough to let us see a few. The last puppy my kids let me pick out, which was probably a mistake! I asked to see a female chocolate Cocker Spaniel and immediately fell in love with her! I was so silly to think that we were actually going to just play with a puppy! I called my husband and asked him what he thought about getting a dog and surprisingly he was all for it (not really knowing my intentions). I dropped my kids off at home and told them I had to run a few errands. 2 hours later I came walking in with the baby chocolate Cocker Spaniel, my kids and my husband were very surprised! We’ve had great luck with Cinderella (Cindy for short, yes my kids named her!), she had no accidents after 2 weeks of having her and she already gives paw and sits. We absolutely adore her!

My german shepherd is a beautiful dog. I lost my previous shepherd almost 2 years prior to getting Max. My wife wasn't really ready (so she said) until she saw him. It was love at first sight and she knew it. She gave in mostly because i wanted him and fell in love (so she tells me). He's a great dog, great personality and great look. Not really ready for a second but my overall experience was great. I appreciate it.

I'm very happy with american puppy club. I haven't gotten a puppy yet, but i have been looking around for awhile. I've searched almost the entire east coast!! I found most of the places i went to in the Star Ledger. First i went to a couple private breeders (went to two), but when i got there to see the puppies, i was appalled! The house smelt terrible, the one french bulldog puppy i looked at was very small, and thin, he was petrified as well, shaking the entire time i was holding him. The parents didn't really look like french bulldogs either. Well at least not the pictures i've seen. I thanked them for their time and continued on my way. Two weeks later i found another breeder. They were out of coltsneck and so i thought this would be a better shot at a good puppy. Very similar situation, the parents looked like french bulldogs, but out of the three puppies left two of them had hernias that were repaired but it just didn't seem right. I was very nervous about this and decided it wasn't for me. I looked for another couple weeks in the paper, and every week i saw an add for American Puppy Club. I decided to take a chance and i drove to middletown! I was extremely releaved when i walked in and that nasty urine and sh** smell didn't smack you back a couple notches when you first walked in. Clean, i was extremely releaved, extremely!!!! The puppies were bouncing and they weren't sitting in their own feces, they seemed lively and happy. I ended up leaving with my French Bulldog puppy that day! Just impressed overall by the facility and everything that came along with my puppy. I love Calvin, and i really love american puppy club, i'm very thankful.

Unbelievable. My family got a maltese puppy from American puppy club two years ago, and my mother and father just got their dog (maltese x poodle mix). My maltese is six and a half pounds!! We keep her in a puppy cut, where she's short all around, she has the cutest face and little button nose. Maddy (my maltese) and Tabby (my parents maltapoo) get along so amazingly. Tabby is also very cute! She looks very similar to Maddy, and my parents said all the same things about American puppy that my family said, clean!!! The puppies are so well groomed and taken care of! They really care! They called me to check in and now their doing the same thing with my parents who haven't had a puppy in almost ten years! So they are extremely helpful, and my parents are very grateful for all the help they've given. Both of our families will be recommending them for future puppy owners!!

this place is amazing! i love my schnauzer puppy! she has been nothing but a sweetheart! training was a little tough, she was a little stubborn, but american puppy helped me out so much. they called me so much to tell me or ask me how i was doing and what to do. i really am surprised at how different they are from other places i've been to. They also do boarding, which is amazing because i travel a lot, eventually shelby will be able to come with me but not anytime soon! Unfortunately! The girls told me that schnauzers do really well in pairs, i've had it in the back of my head for a little while now, im debating it! I really love this place!

My Tasha came from here. They treated her wonderfully. She was so happy and so full of energy when I first took her out to play with her. She was amazing! She brought toys to me, she hopped in my lap, she gave my kids kisses. She's the cutest Golden Retriever i've ever seen (although that's probably because she's mine ). She took to housebreaking very well! It took about 3 and a half weeks for her to have no accidents what so ever in the house. She's about six months old and we took her to her first training session. She did AMAZING! With the trainer and with us. Listened immediately, followed instructions to a "T"! The trainer pointed out how she kept looking at us as we would walk or say something, he said the bond between her and our family was unbelievably strong for only having her for four months! Of course that made me and my family very happy and she got loved and kissed for a few minutes. The trainers loved having her around and playing with her. She actually talked another family into the Golden they were looking at! Tasha has been such a joy to have and as our first puppy she is unbelievable! What an amazing experience and we owe a lot of that to American Puppy Club. They really did stand up to their word, they called us to check in, they gave us an outline as to how the day should go. And they helped us with the training. As far as getting a second one, well we'll see. One is pretty much enough for now. But a second wouldn't be too bad, just talking my husband into it is the hard part!

I didnt plan on going in this store. My dog passed away not too long ago & I think I just wanted to be around dogs for a few minutes. The girl got me talking and I mentioned how my dog was sick. She said I came to the right place because their dogs have health guarantees. She took out a binder filled with articles about how horrible puppy mills are, and she went on to tell me that they are the only pet store in Middletown doesnt buy from puppy mills. She said they do things differently, and thats why theyre so successful. She went on and on about the whole business end of it. She had me thinking this was a legitimate thing. I was probably easier to convince after I started playing with the pup who is now my dog. Long story short, I got home and I looked up the breeder from my dogs papers. SURPRISE SURPRISE A PUPPY MILL WAS WRITTEN RIGHT ON THE PAPERS. Not that I knew that in the store (if only I had my iphone then). To top it off, the breeder was charged with animal cruelty and calls dogs livestock. His facility was cited for non-compliances to the Animal Welfare Act in the areas of housing, cleaning, veterinary care, records, compatible grouping, feeding, primary enclosures, and identification. Yep, all of this info was a few clicks away. But I didnt click in the store. I had a puppy in my hands. Before you visit that store, read about the House of Pets in Ohio (House of Horrors). Thats where my Middletown puppy came from. I feel embarrassed that my money supported a place like that.

I saw American Puppy Club in the Asbury Park Press. I called to find out what breeds they had available, they sounded so eager to meet me, i jumped in my car and took a trip up to see them. I was amazed when i first walked in and there was no smell that hit you, just clean. The staff was so smiley and happy, the puppies were bouncy, so well groomed, and extremely clean. I have never been to a place like this before. The staff was unbelievably knowledgable and kind. They really helped me out and found me my new puppy, i couldn't be happier. They really stand behind their puppies and their clients! I'm very thankful!

i purchased my maltese from here. shes amazing! Potty trained in 2 weeks! The girls there were so amazingly helpful! She can sit stay come and even dance around!!! I recommend everyone here!

I love this kennel, it's not a pet shop. I bought my puppy here for a reasonable price, the employees are very patient and are always available to answer my questions...I got FREE dog training, health guarantees and FREE veterinarian care! This place is SUPER clean (way cleaner than any other place I've ever been to), the puppies are adorable, my dog is healthy and everyone comments on how beautiful he is! I recommend this place all the time and know lots of other people that got their dogs from here and are happy. I also use their boarding services when I go on vacation and their prices for boarding is less than half the price of everywhere else I called. My dog loves to go and get spoiled while I'm on vacation. If you want an adorable and healthy puppy, this is the place!
