Overall

I went for what I thought was a free oil change. I was told when I purchased my vehicle that I would receive free oil change and free car washes for life. It was explained to me that 2 years is apparently a lifetime. They discovered a leaking coolant supply hose then charged me 275 for the repair ,175 witch was for labor. The repair took barely 30 minutes and the part was ridiculously overpriced. I will never purchase another vehicle there or use the service department.

From my experience Al Packer Ford is an honest dealership and I'd recommend them. I went through Truecar and Troy Thacker at Al Packer and his manager Scott beat three other local dealerships on price for my 2016 Ford Transit van. I was innitially skeptical because the original salesman left after I made the deal, but the dealership lived up to every part of the agreement. When the van arrived and we picked it up my wife and I noticed some wind noise in the passenger door. Paul Cox and the service crew did a great job over numerous hours fixing it. I'm accustomed to great treatment from a sales crew, but in the past that great experience is gone after purchase from other dealerships. Paul and the sevice team fixed the issue and we are very happy. I would recommend them for purchase or service.

Stay away from this dealership go elsewhere. Believe all the reviews that you read on this dealership quoting and agreeing on one price and then charging another. I bought a 2011 Ford Mustang at the dealership on 12/05/2015 after arriving at the dealership I was told the price of the car was 12974.00. I pulled out my cellphone and showed the salesperson the price on the website was 10974.00. The salesman asked if he take my cell phone to show the sales manager I said OK. The salesperson came back after about 5 minutes and said they could do the price of 10974.00. I waited about an hour to an hour and half for financing. When I went back to financing in my haste and excitement I didn't notice that they had switched the price to 12469.00. When I called to ask why the price was different I have been given different answers from different people. Also they are refusing to refund me the 1495.00 that I was overcharged after the agreed upon and shook on price.

Lies, Lies, Lies...



Not just a great Guns & Roses album, this is apparently the corporate motto at Al Packers Ford in White Marsh.



In short, they bait you in the door with excellent prices on the internet, then when you examine a vehicle and tell them you'll take the deal at the advertised price, they come back with a final price over 5,000 dollars HIGHER than advertised.



My experience there on 8/29/15 was virtually identical to that posted below by Bryan S. on 10/10/2014.



The first lie they told was that the truck I wanted had been transferred days ago to another dealer. As I'm walking the lot not finding anything that interests me getting ready to leave, the sales rep asks if I'd consider a "demo". I said sure, let's take a look... turns out the "demo," is the exact truck (confirmed with the VIN on the window sticker that I printed off their website and brought with me to the dealer) that they lied about earlier when they said they had supposedly transfrerred to another dealer days ago.



They then go on fumbling to explain away this first lie with numerous, evolving new lies. We ask if they will knock some money off since there is obvious damage to the truck (gouges in the 20" rim and scratches to three panels on the passenger side, they proceed to lie about how the truck was damaged... "Someone backed into the truck while it was parked here on the lot"... really, how is it then that the gouges in the rims clearly indicate this truck was in motion when the damage occurred... more lies are spewed to cover this lie.



Next, indicate they will not knock off any money but they will fix the damages before delivery.



I could go on & on, suffice it to say - having dealt with dozens of auto dealership in my life - I have NEVER seen a dealership lie so blatantly AND bait & switch on price so significantly.



I pray someone in Maryland gives this dealership what they deserve and prosecutes their blatant bait and switch tactics under the following code:

§ 14-2903. Bait and switch.



(a) Prohibited.- A person may not advertise for sale merchandise, commodities, or service through an advertisement describing the merchandise, commodities, or service:



(1) As part of a plan or scheme with the intent not to sell the merchandise, commodity, or service at the advertised price; or



(2) With the intent not to sell the merchandise, commodity, or service.



(b) Penalty.- A person who violates this section is guilty of a misdemeanor and on conviction is subject to imprisonment not exceeding 1 year or a fine not exceeding $500 or both.

I found a car there on the internet and liked the price. I called about it and told him (Richard) that I lived in NJ and it would take me 1.5 hours to drive there. I asked him if the car was still there and verified the price. Answer was yes and the price was correct. I drove down there with my wife and found the car that was listed on the internet to be new with only 6 miles on it actually was being used as a daily driver by an employee and had 2,100 miles on it and was filled with his personal possessions and trash. Plus the gas tank was empty. Since I told Richard we were interested in the car and he had about two hours to prep it for us to look at, you would have thought that he would have had the car prepped for a test drive before we got there - but NO! Very unprofessional to say the least. Plus the lie about the car being "new" with only 6 miles on it. Anyway, we drove the car thinking that they would fix the price to adjust for the mileage difference. After the test drive, we sat down to discuss the price and after about 15 minutes of him running back and forth to the printer and asking us questions about being a student or active duty military, he told us the price of this USED car was not the $23,650 shown on the internet for a NEW 6 mile car, but was in fact over $29,000 (including sales tax) because we weren't students or on active military duty. Funny that when we made the decision to drive down to see the car, THEY HAD 5 CARS THAT MET OUR SEARCH CRITERIA, BUT WHEN WE GOT THERE, THEY COULDNT FIND THE OTHER 4 CARS.



These guys are bait and switch scam artists. Stay away from them.



We bought our new car in NJ for $23,990 and it was 4 wheel drive instead of their $23,650 2 wheel drive (same year, make and model).

i bought my first new car at age 52 a mustang there,, they talked me into a sunroof bernedette pinder sales rep and some spanish woman i call her the spanish clown due to all the makeup she wears the aftermarket installs rep they both lied to me, she lied to me first of al they said oh it has life time warranty and you will love it.. it will be perfect, well it was horrible exsper all the way around, jerry clark was the worst of the worst,a bully,,,, he would not try to help me to work this problem out, the sun roof was not installed right, they dented my roof it vibrates terrible, im afraid it will leak next., i called he answered only this one time and said in a mean hateful way either deal with the problem or trade it in and click went the phone, i called ford and was told by ford although we installed the sun roof there is nothing we can do, i said this is a brand new car, so i kept calling al packer , and never would get my calls returned. i wwent to dealership to see why they didnt give me my book to sun roof, i was order off their lot and had been threatened by jerry clark to call police, just because i called ford to report them...i turned them into better business ( they said al packer didnt want anything to do with me that was waste of time, because they know they ruined my car. ,marylands attorney general he said get an attorney i said what are u.and it would cost m e 1000's, and all the tv stations chan13 and chan 02 never called me back only chan 11 said we dont have enough assets to do ur story , i said if i set the car on fire and run it into dealership they said oh yes people want to hear about that, so they didnt want to help me, so at this point i was discusted and very upset felt helpless so i had a sign made for my back window stating DO NOT PURCHASE ANY CAR FROM AL PACKER FORD ASK ME MY STORY ) well i sat this car up at the local new car sale for 3 days and show at the festival. and i sat it next to the plaza ford tent thinking it would give them business. well someone from plaza ford took a picture and sent it to this jerry clark, well i got a call from jerry clark he said u better get that _ _ _ _am sign out of the window of that car you _ _ _ _ plucking _ _ _ of a itch or im gonna sue the truck outta u, i had to use other way to get the terrible curse words he used towards me. he has a fowl mouth. and a nasty dispostion, and arrogant and narsositic way. i have been told they have had many problems with treating customers, another site to see their neglegence it dealerrator.com many stories on there about how nasty they are, they could have fixed this with me, but chose to not do anything and make my life a total hell, PLEASE WHAT EVER YOU DO STAY AWAY FROM AL PACKER FORD, DO YOUR RESEARCH, IF THEY HAD JUST REINSTALED MY ROOF TO FACTORY STATIS, I HAD A REALLY BAD FEELING THE DAY I DROPPED MY CAR OFF TO HAVE THEM INSTALL THEY SUN ROOF, . AL PACKER in WHITE MARSH is not customer friendly. They messed up on our plates for our new car and then the GM told us "So what do you want me to do?" I asked for a temp tag until the new plates arrive or a rental car. I was told sorry but no and just drive my car illegal until the plates arrive. Customers over heard and asked me what the problem was and I told them. The GM came up to me in a threatning manor and said I have to leave and never come back for making him look bad in front of customers. I was also told that forget about the oil changes that was promised in my contract with them. Both my husband and me are veterans and ask that any other brothers and sisters in arms not go to AL PACKER in WHITE MARSH.

These guys are the reason why carsalesmen have such a bad reputation. I would never recommend purchasing a new or used vehicle from Al Packer s because they are very dishonest and unprofessional. I attempted to purchase a used vehicle from them with my own financing at local credit union. After agreeing to a price the arrangement was for me to go to my credit union the next day and get the financing from the credit union and return to finalize the deal. Seemed like a done deal however it was far from it. I should have known these guys weren t honest because they wouldn t put the deal in writing instead they said that they would fax the agreed upon price details to the credit union the next day. At the credit union the agreed purchase price was now $600 more for a freight charge which was in addition to the agreed upon $200 dealer charge. $800 in dealer fees is ridiculous to pay on a used car. When I confronted the salesperson about the $600 fee which was not apart of the agreed upon price the night before she advised that she must have forgot to tell me and that she couldn t do anything about the charge. Now I was beginning to rethink my purchase from them. So I decided to go on-line and check out their website for their policy on dealer fees. While on their site I stumbled upon their monthly sales ad. The sales ad had the car I was about to purchase however the price of the vehicle was approximately $1000 less than I was told in person at the dealership. This was it for me so I called them back to see if they would come clean with me and make the deal at the advertised price and minus the $600 freight charge. They wouldn t budge so I decided to walk from the deal. When I asked them to refund my deposit they advised me that they had to keep my deposit for 10 days even though I hadn t bought a car from them. What kind of dealer keeps your money when the deal falls through, especially when it s their fault. I had to stop the check in order to get my money back. This dealer is a joke don t waste your time with them unless you like to play games and/or get ripped off!
