        Spring Lake Golf Club came into being when Long Island potato farmers Herman, Fred and Charles Jurgens teamed up with golf course designer/builder Charles Martin. Together they transformed 180 wooded acres in Middle Island, New York into a golfer’s paradise. Spring Lake opened to the public in 1967 and has impressed guests ever since with its park-like beauty and world-class quality. Spring Lake is home to two meticulously-maintained courses that provide and enjoyable experience for all golfers. The Thunderbird is an 18-hole course with meandering fairways and large undulating greens.
